Daily Inspiration: Meet Halle Chandler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Halle Chandler.

Halle Chandler

Hi Halle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started modeling for some local photographers up in Greenville every once in a while. Then, one of the photographers, now one of my best friends, gave me an old Canon point-and-shoot. I picked it up one day, and that was it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road? If not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest struggle as a photographer is not comparing myself to others. There are so many incredible creatives out there, and it’s hard not to get in my head about it. But once I let that go, it all just seemed to flow. I’d take pictures for free for the rest of my life, with zero followers or a million.

Thanks for sharing that. Please tell us a bit more about your work.
I love pictures that capture real life. Of course, editorial shots and models are fun to shoot sometimes, but little, real moments are my favorite. People at work, on the street, just going through life—I think it’s beautiful. I capture people and moments; I see them in my head, and people seem to like it.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
As long as you genuinely love to do something, keep doing it. Don’t let social media and the internet make you think you should be at a different status than you are. None of this is real.
