Today we’d like to introduce you to Rashad Coles.
Hi Rashad, we’re thrilled to have a chance to hear your story today. Before we get into specifics, please briefly describe how you got to where you are today.
I graduated from West Ashley High School in 2004, attended Trident Technical College, and then transferred to Allen University in Columbia, SC, until 2009. I moved back to Charleston and got into the F&B industry. I started serving tables at Applebee’s and ended up on the opening team for two upscale restaurants. Also opened a restaurant with “partners.” Jobs included Licensing, permitting, designing, and staffing the kitchen and front of the house. Towards the end of my F&B career, I ran the most chic, Chic champagne bar in South Carolina called Camillas, inside The Bennett Hotel. COVID has penned, and during all my time, “I put myself through Real Estate School online. In January of 2022, I started my Real Estate Career.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story. Has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Getting to where I am has been easy. It took a lot of focus and self-mental reprogramming, which means realizing your self-worth, building confidence in your craft, learning to love yourself, and giving thanks to your preferred higher power.

I have recently started an LLC to house all of my businesses under one entity. RDC Incorporated LLC! Under RDC Inc., I have the CEO of Southern Chic Event Rentals, the Operating Owner of Southern Chic Event Hall, and RDC Charleston Properties at Coldwell Banker Realty Summerville. Southern Chic Event Rentals is a one-stop event rental company. We carry Banquet tables and Chairs. Luxury Tables and Chairs, Table Linen, plates, chargers, cutlery, etc., Southern Chic specializes in everything design: weddings, Bridal showers, and corporate events. Southern Chic Event Hall is an event space we rent out for rehearsal dinners, baby showers, bridal showers, and adult and kids’ elevated birthday parties. Also, within the space I’ve created a brand-new concept for weddings called “Charleston Tiny Weddings.” What is a Charleston Tiny Wedding, you ask? It is a smaller, more intimate wedding with a shorter ceremony and a smaller exclusive guest count. We offer packages to suit every couple’s needs. From a 30-minute elopement to a 4-hour all-out party! SCEH is more than just a rental space. We will soon be hosting programs for the arts for our creative young Charleston minds.
RDC Charleston Properties is my Real Estate Company. I’m entering my 3rd year in Real Estate. I’ve made almost 4 million in sales in the past two years, $115K GCI (Gross Commission Income), and 15 closed units. The road was challenging! I started real estate during COVID-19 by enrolling myself in online schooling. It was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done because I was teaching myself. Once I was done with the class, I went on to take the State and National tests. It took me 5 times to finally pass. I refused to give up like I do everything in life. Give it my all, and always finish what you started. During my first year with KW (Keller Williams), I found it an excellent company for all your hands-on teaching. Right before starting my 2nd year with KW, I was recruited by one of the most brilliant Brokers in the industry, Alex Fuller, with CB, Summerville. Once she got me under her wing, I finally started finding my footing in Real Estate. I am now ranked in the top 2% of realtors in the Carolinas.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is taking our huge Family Vacation to Disney World. I enjoyed the amusement parks, where rollercoasters went upside down. I think that’s when I realized I was a thrill seeker.
