Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Keller.
Hi Stephanie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, I was always involved in helping others. Whether it was through Girl Scouts or the Fraternal Order of Police, we were always a part of our community. The desire to help others came naturally to me. After college, I felt as if I was lost in the real world, not knowing what I wanted to do or where I wanted to be. Going through that rabbit hole caused me to lose who I was and my love for myself. I noticed other women focusing on their health and wellness; they seemed so happy and confident! I wanted that so badly. I knew I needed to turn my life around before it was too late. So, I started my health journey. That’s how I found my self-love and happiness again. Working a 9-5 wasn’t doing it for me anymore. Yes, it paid the bills, but a fire burned in my soul, telling me I was made for so much more. But that’s where a new journey began. After several signs, I woke up one morning and quit my job. I dedicated my life to helping other women find their place through fitness, nutrition, and mindset. I’m now a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and running my own business, assisting women virtually on their journey. We can want something in life with all our hearts, but we must work on ourselves first. Once I worked on myself, everything else I wanted started to come.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been everything but a smooth road. I woke up and quit my job to chase my dream. Talk about faith and determination! Support plays a huge role in making this possible. The amount of support from my fiance, Kevin Jowers, during this transition has been immeasurable. It’s only sometimes you find someone fully supporting you, leaving your job to start your own business while bills still need to be paid! There will never be a good time to take a chance, but you must jump at the opportunity if you want change. Do it messy; the important part is that you do it. The thing I’ve learned, though, is that people want real people. Nobody wants perfect. We want help and a community we can lean on. Providing that to my clients has helped me the most on this journey.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer working on my NASM Certified Nutrition Coach certification. I have workout programs, nutrition plans, and mindset work for my clients. All of these are chosen to meet each individual’s needs. My favorite part is genuinely getting to know my clients and their goals, where they’ve been, where they are, and where they’re going. I’m most proud of setting the example of chasing your dreams. Defying the doubters, overcoming rock bottom, and not allowing your past to define you. I’m proud of the supportive community I provide my clients and the lives that have been changed by my decision not to give up. When I make it to the top, I don’t want to say it was easy; I want to say it took blood, sweat, and tears, but I did it.
We’d like to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in figuring out what you want out of life and who you want to be and then working as hard as you need to to make those things happen. I believe in finding your “why,” your purpose. Who are you showing up for each day, and who are you showing up as? You aren’t going to wake up one morning and have your dreams by luck; you’re going to wake up and make it happen.
