Daily Inspiration: Meet Tanya & Harry McSween

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya & Harry McSween.

Tanya & Harry McSween

Hi, Tanya & Harry; please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I, Tanya, grew up in Atlanta. In middle school, I started an after-school job as a local sports photographer, making buttons and magnets for kids’ sports photos. I worked for that company through high school and college, then moved away and started photographing weddings for friends, which led to photographing weddings with my husband, Harry, part-time. The ball was rolling, and we were booking and excited about weddings; then we got pregnant with our son, who is now twelve; two years later, his sister, and two years after that, another sister. So, a boy, two girls, and our kiddos were all consuming six years later! We decided to take a break from photographing weddings and then hopped back in when our youngest was a few years old; now, we are back in full swing, marketing our wedding photography business and booking out every year.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been both a smooth and bumpy road at times. We went through years of having children, and our business had to be put on hold, but now we are networking like crazy and booking out every year.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My husband, Harry, and I photograph weddings solely, and we specialize in photographing weddings for our clients using film and digital mediums. Our super stealthy ninja skills include being a husband and wife team with over 13 years of photography and wedding industry experience. We are proud to continue to grow as artists and serve our clients. We are passionate about capturing a wedding day’s truthful and dynamic imagery.
