Hi Tamara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a School Counselor at a high school by day, but I spend my evening booking travel for clients. I began working in the travel industry alongside my husband. This sparked our business name, Tuck & Tam Ventures, LLC. Some friends told us that working in the travel industry would help us afford travel for our family. I had yet to learn the business would thrive as it is now. Now, I book vacations for friends, family, colleagues, and people we have never met. Best of all, I could treat my family to more travel experiences.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our business began with challenges due to needing more knowledge and experience. I quickly realized I needed to take advantage of all the training I could. There were no answers and needs and conflicts I could not resolve. I began to widen my knowledge base through training, experiences, and more exposure; it has made all the difference. It’s scary when a client misses their flight or when someone cancels their trip and doesn’t have travel protection. Through experience, you learn how to navigate these challenges and find solutions.

Tuck & Tam Ventures, LLC is a home-based travel agency. We specialize in cruises, all-inclusive vacations, group trips, and hotel stays. However, we don’t stop there. We are also Disney World lovers as well. Our approach sets us apart from other travel agencies. When you contact our business, you will communicate directly with me. I make it my mission to communicate effectively with clients and promptly. As a family that likes to vacation, we try to encourage travel experiences that we would feel comfortable utilizing for our family.
So, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you before we go? How can they support you?
We collaborate with airlines, resort brands, and tour agencies to help clients have the best vacation possible. Collaborating with airline vendors also allows clients to break their costs into payments instead of paying in full immediately. We try To network with tour companies so that we can recommend excursions and experiences for our clients when they travel abroad or locally.
