Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Elliott. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Elliott Brothers Woodworks was established in 2008 by low-country natives Jake and Glenn Elliott. The brothers are passionate volleyball players, with Jake playing professionally for over a decade on the AVP. Glenn is an avid outdoorsman and carpenter. In the Fall of 2008, the brothers saw an opportunity to combine their skill sets, as they did as young men on the volleyball court, and create a business to serve the unmet flooring needs in the Charleston market. As the housing market was in decline, homeowners looking to remodel had very few choices regarding reliable, high-end flooring companies. The brothers aligned themselves with some of the finest flooring manufacturers and installers worldwide to ensure Elliott Brothers Woodworks delivers for its clients. Their attention to detail and dedication to quality have resulted in a thriving business that grows yearly.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a small family business comes with its own set of challenges. However, we have been fortunate enough to have had a smooth journey. We have taken great care in hiring employees who share our values and are passionate about their work. Our focus has always been on providing exceptional customer service and ensuring customers leave with a positive experience.
We’ve been impressed with Elliott Brothers Woodworks, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart?
We specialize in wood flooring and offer both pre-finished and site-finished options. Our services include installation and refinishing. Additionally, we sell a wide range of wood products, such as mantels, beams, reclaimed materials, wood shelving, live edge slabs, and custom tables. Our company is passionate about providing excellent customer service, and we have a showroom in Mount Pleasant where you can view samples of our flooring, reclaimed materials, and mantels.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any essential lessons or epiphanies you can share?
Despite the pandemic, consumers continued with their home renovation projects. We were fortunate to experience growth in our small business during these challenging times.
