Inspiring Conversations with Brittany Cromwell of NotTheNormalMom

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Cromwell.

Hi Brittany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I became a mom at 20 years old and was sick and tired of going to a job I didn’t love while getting paid to struggle financially. We struggled dollar to dollar and had zero family time. I needed to bring in an extra income without putting my daughter in daycare any longer. The disappointment I was dealing with was stronger than the fear of trying something I had no experience with. So that’s when I started working on social media through a network marketing company and never looked back. The training available didn’t help me much, so it was up to me to go out and learn independently. That mindset has got me through every hurdle, bump, and setback as an entrepreneur. If I can’t make something work, I figure it out until it works, so I keep making more money. After picking up my daughter from daycare one day and learning that I missed her first words after a bad day at work, that was the day I decided that I was going to work hard until I could come home to her. If other people can, then why can’t I? That’s when I put my foot down on the pedal and realized I could have a larger income if I wanted to was all about just deciding to. Three months later, I tripled my full-time income and left my job in 2016, and I haven’t worked for anybody else since. My favorite part about what I do is helping other people see the potential in themselves and coaching them on how to make an extra income online. I spend all day with my girls now, and that’s worth every hard day. A day of work now looks like waking up, reading, self-development, working out, answering messages, training, working with the team, and creating content, including the products I promote. I hope that I can give network marketing a better name. It doesn’t have to be spamming your family and friends, turning your social media into a sales ad, or being annoying. You get to stand for something. It can be a fun, creative, exciting socializing career attracting followers and people who appreciate you that want your solution for their problems.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing great ever comes easy. The business has ups and downs; thankfully, I’ve had mainly ups. I think a struggle for most is work-life balance. I am also battling the feeling of always wanting to catch up, but unfortunately, that will never happen as an entrepreneur. There will always be new ideas and more to do. It’s a never-ending job where you can‘t just clock out at the end of the day. You have to have a lot of discipline and boundaries to say Ok, I’m done here, and I’ve done my best, and there’s always tomorrow. I’ve had to learn to give myself a day off, and even that is so hard to this day. The hardest emotional thing about what I do is seeing more in people than they see in themselves. People waste so much potential thanks to fear. Fear isn’t even a real physical thing! It’s in our heads. I have such a big heart and want everyone to win.

I want everyone to experience the many blessings I’ve had from working for myself, but unfortunately, there’s no way to make someone want success more. The drive is built within. As a leader, I’ve realized other people struggle to see themselves hitting their goals. Lots of self-worth and confidence issues, but I see it differently. I believe we are all so so worthy and capable; we lack the skills needed to get results to build confidence. Confidence is knowledge. Learn more, and the belief will come. The easiest thing is knowing what you want. The hardest thing is seeing it even when you don’t see the progress necessarily happening just yet. #entrepreneurprobs

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I have been an ambassador diamond, top 100 income earner globally for the last 5 years with a direct sales company called It Works! Global I registered as an S corp years ago and decided to name my corporation “Not The Normal Mom,” also my social media handle. I decided on that name because I want to be a role model to other moms to show them that society’s normal and even your everyday is known normal doesn’t have to be permanent. That change and raising your standards to what you desire is possible and not unrealistic. So, even though I sell products that have helped me lose 50 pounds and feel my absolute best, I based my entire account and content around inspiring moms to create the best version of themselves while living a life far from their “normal.”

Let’s end by discussing what matters most to you and why.
What matters to me most are my 2 girls. I want to create larger, multiple businesses to create an abundant life full of fun, adventure, and happiness for them then and now. Being an entrepreneur and teaching them many things will inspire them to be one themselves one day. I hope they can take their passions and hobbies and turn them into an income when they’re older. Too many people go their whole life just thinking their hobbies are fun things to do on the side and go to a job that they don’t love. I hope they look at their mom and know they can take any idea, combine it with anything they love doing, and find a way to build success. They are my main priority, and I want to be more than just telling them what to do; I want to show them what to do. It’s so much more than just impacting their children; what we do now will impact generations on generations in the future.
