Today we’d like to introduce you to Persephanie B.
Hi Persephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started in the video production field when I first went to Trident Technical College in 2018. I have always had huge interest when it came to art in any form. When I went to TTC I was immersed in all parts of video production like behind the camera, in front of the camera, video/audio editing, light setups, directing, and more.
This is where I fell more in love with it. Once I graduated from TTC, I decided I wanted to continue my education with a BA from the University of South Carolina and pursue my creativity with my company Artist Mentality Persephanie Production.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road ahead for me regarding this type of work. When deciding to take on a role of entrepreneurship, you are tasked with so much more than being in a creative space. Obstacles and challenges you may never think of shows itself for sure.
Like when juggling home, work, school, and creativity all at once it does test just how much you want this. Things like funding for more significant projects or simply just missing out on more fun things are obstacles that do happen.
However, with all the challenges and obstacles that I have faced and will face in the future, I wouldn’t change what I’m doing.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Artist Mentality Persephanie Production, I specialize in video production. Whether it’s working on a Film, TV series, Documentary, or Music Video I tackle them all. I also have experience shooting photos for weddings and private events as well. I am known for working with my clients to support them and create the best work for them.
I am currently most proud of graduating from college with an associate’s plus Bachelor’s Degree and working as a camera operator on a documentary series. My passion for creative arts sets me apart from others because I love what I do. Being able to create original work and help bring creative thoughts together for clients is a world of its own.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I have always been interested in many aspects of art.
One of the things I was really good at as a kid was drawing. I was a visual artist so I would look at pictures or things and draw them. Since I was so good at it the kind of presents/gifts I would receive was the professional sets of drawing tools that came in their own carrying case.
That interest turned into creative writing plus more, which then turned into full script writing. So art in any form has always been a part of me. With art came joy in being creative so I definitely was a happy laughing kid with jokes.
