Today we’d like to introduce you to Salih Abdur-Rasheed.
Salih, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started M.E.T.R.O Bodyguards (formerly METRO Security), while simultaneously running multiple local fitness clubs as the General Manager of Personal Training in Columbia SC. Eventually, I moved on to the transportation industry after the recession of 2009, obtained a CDL, and incorporated Air Force Logistics, LLC which is my current business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road but it has been rewarding. Some of the biggest obstacles were just not knowing enough. Not enough experience in this industry when I began in 2009.
We’ve been impressed with Air Force Logistics, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business transports freight of all kinds throughout 48 states in the USA. It began as a flatbed trailer transport building everything from high-rise buildings in San Francisco to Walmart’s.
Currently I am contracted with Amazon via Okan Express Transportation Inc., moving various products for them in a 53ft. Dry Van trailer. What sets me apart is that I wear tailored work clothes, custom high visibility safety vests, and unique boots/shoes to give a high professional first impression to clients/customers. I want readers to know they can achieve anything if they first decide to achieve it and take the daily steps at execution.
What does success mean to you?
True success for me is when I get to a point of having more control of my time. Time is my most valuable asset and definition of success.

THESE DAYS… that will DEFINITELY set you apart! Nowadays many Truckers walk into the office of a company dressed more casual than I would in my own house!
