Rising Stars: Meet Leslie McBride

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie McBride. 

Hi Leslie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, that’s a great question! It was just an idea that evolved over time with painting oyster shells and that grew into a business of home decor. I always loved to decorate, so when I was decorating my first apartment, I really grew to love vintage and reclaimed pieces. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s constantly a struggle and constantly a new learning curve. The research and time that it takes to curate and collect these pieces are a new challenge every day. Shipping would probably have to be my most unpredictable and frustrating experience. Due to the high cost of packaging and handling it’s becoming the very costly. You also never know what’s going to happen once it leaves your possession. I cross my fingers a lot, lol. 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m 100% committed to customer satisfaction! I’ve been told I have a good eye and give great styling suggestions. I’m also really proud of my research skills, if a client is looking for a certain piece 9 times out of 10, I can find it. That’s what feels good, that’s why I love what I do! Seeing a happy client and helping to make a happy home is what it’s all about. 

What’s next?
I’m currently saving for a transit van, hoping to get into the larger furniture game. I’m hoping to do even more events this year and I’m excited about the potential this little business has and hope to one day have a shop of my own!
