Daily Inspiration: Meet Asia Suber

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Suber.

Hi Asia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Briarwood Eyewear was born from a vision I had long before the brand became what it is today. I started wearing glasses at just 10 years old, so eyewear has always been a part of my story. Growing up, I was familiar with visiting the eye doctor and choosing frames, but as I got older, I began to realize just how expensive glasses could be. I knew there had to be a better way.
That realization inspired me to create Briarwood Eyewear: a brand where people could find unique, stylish eyewear at a more affordable price, whether they were looking for a fashion statement or prescription glasses. I wanted to make eyewear more accessible without compromising on style or individuality. What started as a vision has grown into a brand that I’m continuing to build with purpose. Briarwood Eyewear is more than just glasses it’s about helping people see themselves how God sees them. And here we are, just getting started!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. When I first started my business, I sold clothing, and although the clothing did well, I eventually realized that both my target audience and I had changed. We were no longer college students shopping for weekend outfits. We were college graduates, new parents, and professionals navigating new stages of life. I knew it was time for me to pivot and build something that aligned with who we had become.
One of my biggest struggles was overcoming the fear of starting over. I questioned whether people would shop for eyewear from my brand, how I would market it, and whether I could successfully transition into an entirely different industry. There was a lot of uncertainty, but I knew I didn’t want to stay in a space that no longer aligned with my vision.
Before making the transition, I spent a lot of time praying, researching, and planning. I wanted to be intentional about this next chapter rather than make a move without a clear direction. It took faith, patience, and the willingness to step outside of my comfort zone before I was ready to introduce Briarwood Eyewear to the world.
Looking back, I’ve learned that sometimes growth requires you to let go of what worked in the past to make room for what you’re called to build next. The journey hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has helped shape the brand and the business owner I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the owner of Briarwood Eyewear, but outside of running my business, I wear many different hats. I work in specialty pharmacy, specifically in infectious disease, and I also work part-time as a pharmacy technician instructor. On top of that, I’m a mother and a full-time eyewear lover!
One of the things I’m most proud of is being able to show up fully for my daughter while building a business and balancing two jobs. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’m proud of the commitment, discipline, and faith it has taken to pursue my goals while still being present for the people who matter most to me.
What truly sets me and Briarwood Eyewear apart is our why. My faith is at the center of my vision for this brand, and I believe God is using me to help people see eyewear differently — both literally and figuratively.
There’s often a stigma surrounding glasses. For children, glasses can sometimes viewed as uncool, while for older adults, wearing them can feel like a reminder of aging. I want Briarwood Eyewear to challenge those perceptions and change the conversation. Glasses shouldn’t be something people feel insecure about; they should be something that empowers them to express their individuality, embrace their style, and feel confident in who they are.
My goal for Briarwood Eyewear is to represent more than just fashion. I want it to represent confidence, accessibility, self-expression, and a shift in how people view wearing glasses. I want a child to feel excited about their first pair of glasses, a professional to feel confident in their everyday frames, and anyone who wears glasses to see them as an extension of their personality rather than something they have to hide.
Ultimately, I’m building a brand with purpose. I want people to see Briarwood Eyewear and know that there is meaning behind it that we’re not just helping people see better, but helping them feel better about how they see themselves. That is the vision I’m most passionate about bringing to life.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
