Rising Stars: Meet Kelsey Lovett of South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Lovett.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Eight years ago, yoga transformed my weight loss journey – not just physically,by unlocking what my body was truly capable of. As my practice deepened and my passion grew, so did a mission : to create a space where every body feels welcome. Peak Mobility Yoga was born to bridge the gap between functional fitness and traditional movement, proving that mobility and strength belong to everyone, regardless of where they start.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Over the years I have taught yoga out of the inside of a small box gym. The floors were dirty, classes were held before yoga that would run over and the program itself was struggling all because the owner did not value the benefits yoga could bring to the members. During covid I would teach pop ups throughout our community with the same goal in mind. As a busy mom this has just been a passion of mine throughout the years that has grown from occasional classes now to a full 11 class schedule per week and a space to call my own.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
In Aiken, I’m known for my work in fitness marketing and sales. I opened OTF Aiken and brought it to overall top performance in the U.S…not just once but twice as it transitioned to a local ownership this year. It has allowed me to grow my deep relationships within our community and continue my message across larger platforms that every-BODY is welcome in creating an inclusive welcoming environment from the moment clients come through doors. As a person who has lost 150lbs I recognize the stigma of walking into a group fitness setting and not feeling like there was a place for someone like myself.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am always looking forward to collaborations within health & wellness. Peak Mobility Yoga is on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. We also utilize Mindbody and Class Pass for reserving classes. To check out more about the studio you can find our story on www.peakmobilityyoga.com.
