Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhyan Scott.
Hi Rhyan , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been a mix of creativity, career growth, entrepreneurship, and simply being willing to try new things. I’ve always had a creative side, but over the years I’ve learned how to combine that creativity with my professional experience in communications, marketing, and community-focused work.
Content creation became another outlet for me to share my personality, lifestyle, family, travel, and the things I genuinely enjoy. More recently, I’ve also stepped into the world of 3D printing and turned that interest into a growing creative business. What started as learning, experimenting, and making things I loved has grown into designing and selling products, building an online community, and connecting with other people who share the same interests.
I’m still growing and figuring out what’s next, but that’s one of my favorite parts of my story. I’ve learned that you don’t have to fit into just one box—you can have a career, be a creator, build a business, explore new interests, and continue reinventing yourself along the way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges with being a creator and entrepreneur is navigating the constant ups and downs. Social media and trends move so quickly, and there can be a lot of pressure to stay current, keep creating, and constantly come up with the “next” idea.
Getting into 3D printing added a whole new layer to that. There’s a huge learning curve—from understanding the machines and troubleshooting failed prints to learning design, testing products, figuring out what people actually want to buy, and keeping up with new trends. Some days everything prints perfectly and the ideas are flowing, and other days I’m staring at a failed print wondering what happened! But that process has also pushed me creatively and taught me so much.
Burnout is probably one of my biggest challenges because I’m balancing content creation, my 3D printing business, my career, family, and everyday life. There are times when I’m extremely inspired and motivated, and other times when I have to step away, reset, and allow myself to not always be producing something.
I’ve also learned not to measure success by every view, like, sale, or viral product. Not every design is going to sell, not every video is going to perform, and not every idea is going to work—and that’s okay. I’m learning to enjoy the process, stay creative, evolve with the trends without losing my own style, and remember why I started in the first place.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is really a combination of three different worlds my professional career, content creation, and entrepreneurship through 3D printing.
Professionally, I work as an Executive Assistant at a major university, where I support leadership and help keep a lot of moving pieces organized behind the scenes. My role has strengthened my skills in communication, organization, problem-solving, project coordination, and being able to anticipate what needs to happen before someone even has to ask. I’m proud of the level of trust and responsibility I’ve been able to build in my professional career.
Outside of that, I’m a content creator. I create lifestyle, travel, family, and creative content while building a community that gets to see the real person behind everything I do. Content creation has opened doors for me to work with brands, connect with people I may have never reached otherwise, and turn my personality and everyday experiences into something that resonates with an audience.
Then there’s my newest creative obsession 3D printing. I’ve built a growing business around creating fun, trendy, and nostalgic 3D-printed products, from accessories and keychains to unique pieces inspired by pop culture and Y2K nostalgia. I love taking an idea from something that exists in my head to designing, printing, packaging, marketing, and ultimately seeing someone purchase and enjoy it. I’ve also been able to share that journey online and connect with an amazing community of other makers.
What I’m most proud of is that I haven’t limited myself to one thing. I can be an Executive Assistant in a professional university setting, come home and run a creative business, and then turn on a camera and create content. I think what sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with organization and business. I’m always learning something new, experimenting, and finding ways to turn the things I genuinely enjoy into opportunitiesand I’m excited to see where that continues to take me.
