Hi Quentin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey as a producer started with a genuine love for music and a desire to create something that people could feel. I’ve always been drawn to the emotion, storytelling, and soul within R&B and Neo Soul, and over time I began developing my own sound as Que Sol.
What started as simply making beats grew into taking production seriously learning the technical side, working with artists, building relationships, licensing music, and developing a sound that feels authentic to me. Every experience, including the challenges and setbacks, has pushed me to become more disciplined and intentional with my craft.
Today, I’m focused on building Que Sol into a long-term career and creating music that connects with people beyond just the beat. I’m still growing, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited about where the next chapter can take me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve had to navigate financial challenges, career changes, and periods where I questioned whether I was truly capable of turning music into a career. Balancing everyday responsibilities while continuing to invest time and energy into producing has been one of my biggest challenges.
There have also been setbacks in working with artists, building my network, and learning the business side of music. But each obstacle has taught me something especially the importance of patience, consistency, discipline, and believing in my own creative voice.
Instead of allowing those challenges to stop me, I’ve used them as motivation to keep improving. I’m still working through some of those obstacles today, but I’ve learned that the journey is part of becoming the producer and person I’m meant to be.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a music producer and creative based under the name Que Sol, specializing in R&B, Neo Soul, and soulful, emotionally driven production. My work focuses on creating records that feel intimate, atmospheric, and honest while still leaving room for an artist’s voice and story to shine.
I’m known for paying close attention to emotion, texture, melodies, and the small details that can make a production feel alive. I’m not interested in simply following trends I want my production to have its own identity and create a feeling that stays with the listener.
What I’m most proud of is the growth I’ve experienced as a producer and the fact that I’ve continued to develop my sound despite the obstacles along the way. I’ve learned how to approach production not only from a creative perspective, but also from the business and collaborative side of the industry.
What sets me apart is my intention. I want every beat to communicate something. Whether it’s vulnerability, love, reflection, or confidence, I’m trying to create music that gives artists a space to tell the truth and gives listeners something they can connect with.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I think the music industry will become even more independent, technology-driven, and creator-focused. AI and new production tools will continue to change how music is created, distributed, and marketed, giving independent producers and artists more opportunities to build careers without relying entirely on traditional industry structures.
At the same time, I believe authenticity will become even more valuable. With technology making it easier to create and release music, the artists and producers who develop a recognizable sound, genuine identity, and strong connection with their audience will stand out.
I also see more producers becoming entrepreneurs not just creating music, but building brands, licensing their work, collaborating globally, and finding multiple ways to generate income from their creativity.
For me, that makes this an exciting time to be a producer. I want to embrace new technology without losing the human element that makes music meaningful. My goal is to continue developing my sound as Que Sol, build lasting relationships with artists, and create work that can stand the test of changing trends.
