Daily Inspiration: Meet Kristen Head

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Head.

Kristen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Kristen Head, and I’m a 26-year old beauty, lifestyle, and motherhood creator based in Charleston, South Carolina. I began sharing my life online in 2018, when I was just 17 years old, filming and creating content from my childhood home. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a passion and eventually into a career.

Within my first two years of creating content, I grew my Instagram community to more than 10,000 followers. In 2020, I also began creating on TikTok, where I went on to build another community of more than 10,000 followers. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to turn my social media presence into a business through brand partnerships, affiliate marketing, and entrepreneurship.

In 2023, I began my journey in network marketing, where I continue to build my own business while mentoring a community of more than 500 women on how to create businesses from home through social media. This experience has taught me so much about leadership, entrepreneurship, content creation, and the power of building an authentic personal brand online.

In 2024, my journey took another meaningful turn when I became a mom to my daughter, Delaney, who was born with Down syndrome. Becoming her mother completely changed my perspective and gave me an entirely new purpose for using my platform. I’ve become an advocate for the Down syndrome community and am passionate about helping others see the incredible value, joy, and potential in individuals with Down syndrome. I believe my daughter’s life has immense value, and I want to continue using my voice and my platform to advocate for her and for others in the Down syndrome community.

Today, motherhood is an important part of my content and my identity as a creator. I share a mix of motherhood, lifestyle, beauty products, products I genuinely love, and the realities of building a business while raising a family. I want my platform to be a place where people can discover products, find inspiration, follow along with our life, and see an honest representation of motherhood.

I’m a Charleston native and grew up in the area, spending much of my life in and around downtown Charleston. I was raised in Summerville, a small town about an hour outside of Charleston, so the city has always felt like a second home to me. Charleston continues to play a huge role in my life and my content. My fiancé, Jonah, is the executive chef at Melfi’s on King Street, which makes the Charleston food and lifestyle scene an especially personal part of our lives.

My brand is built around my name, Kristen Head, and reflects who I am rather than fitting into one specific category. I love sharing the products I genuinely use and love, beauty finds, motherhood, our life in Charleston, and my entrepreneurial journey. At the heart of it all, I want my platform to be an authentic extension of my life and a place where people feel connected to my story.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges throughout my journey has been learning how to navigate the pressure that comes with social media. I’ve experienced rejection numerous times, especially in the beginning, and I didn’t have access to the resources, knowledge, or opportunities that creators have today. I was essentially learning as I went self made if you will

Social media and the internet in general can also be a difficult space because there are so many opinions, responses, negativity, and opportunities to compare yourself to other people. Over the past eight years, I’ve had to continually remind myself why I started and why I’m still doing this.

My biggest advice to anyone trying to build a space online is to give yourself time. Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle, and don’t expect to blow up overnight. Building an audience, finding your voice, and creating a sustainable career takes time. There have been plenty of moments when I’ve questioned myself, but I’ve learned that consistency and perseverance matter so much more than having an overnight success.

If you truly want to create something online, keep showing up, keep learning, and put your heart into it. You never know what can happen when you’re willing to keep going.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Although it all started with me simply sharing my favorite products, things I loved, and pieces of my everyday life, my platform has grown into so much more.

For the past two and a half years, I’ve built a business through affiliate marketing and network marketing with Monat, where I’ve mentored more than 500 women on how to monetize their own beauty businesses and use social media to build an income from home. I’ve grown into the top 2% of the company as an affiliate while also helping other women learn how to build their own businesses and create opportunities for themselves through social media.

That is just one of the many ways I monetize my platform. I also partner with brands through affiliate partnerships and other opportunities, sharing products and companies that genuinely align with me and my audience.

Beyond the business side, a huge part of what I do is simply sharing my life. Being based in Charleston gives me the opportunity to attend local events, highlight businesses, showcase the food and culture of the Charleston community, and bring my audience along for the experience. I want my platform to encompass a little bit of everything beauty, motherhood, lifestyle, entrepreneurship, local Charleston experiences, products I love, and the everyday moments in between.

At the end of the day, I consider myself an entrepreneur and content creator, but more than anything, I’m building a personal brand around my life and the things I genuinely love.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Through network marketing, I was fortunate to connect with so many women who were already building businesses through social media, including the woman who originally recruited me. Those relationships became an important part of my journey because I was surrounded by people who understood what I was trying to build and were willing to share their knowledge and experience.

I think that same principle applies to social media in general. It’s so valuable to surround yourself with like minded people who are in the same industry or working toward similar goals. Especially when you’re starting out, connecting with creators or entrepreneurs who have been doing it longer can give you perspective, encouragement, and insight that you may not be able to figure out on your own.

You don’t have to navigate the online space completely by yourself. Finding your community, learning from people who have more experience, and being willing to ask questions can make such a difference. Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned have come from simply being around people who were a few steps ahead of me.
