Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashia Jones.
Hi Ashia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has been anything but linear, but looking back, I can see how every season has helped shape the woman I am today.
I started my professional journey in the beauty industry as a cosmetologist, esthetician, educator, and eventually an entrepreneur. I built a business, taught future professionals, and spent years helping women feel confident on the outside. What I did not realize at the time was that God was also developing my ability to teach, lead, encourage, and create spaces where people could grow.
Over the years, my life began to shift. I experienced personal challenges, career transitions, the closing of my salon business, and seasons that forced me to reconsider how much of my identity had become connected to what I did rather than who I was. Some doors closed that I thought would remain open, but those endings created room for something new.
Today, I work professionally in the corporate sector while pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Global Strategic Leadership at Columbia College. I am also the founder of Ashia J Unfiltered, a faith-forward brand and platform centered on helping women heal, grow, and become who God has called them to be. Through Bible studies, speaking, Christian content, and apparel, I have been able to combine my love for teaching, leadership, creativity, entrepreneurship, and ministry.
One of the biggest lessons from my journey has been that starting over does not mean starting from nothing. I carried every lesson, skill, failure, relationship, and experience from one season into the next. Even the seasons that felt like setbacks gave me something I needed for where I am now.
My story is still being written. I am a wife, mother, student, professional, entrepreneur, speaker, and woman of faith, but I have learned not to build my entire identity around any one of those titles. At the center of everything I am building now is a commitment to live authentically, serve people well, and use what I have learned to help another woman realize that her current chapter does not have to be her final one.
Ashia J Unfiltered was born from that truth. My life has not been perfectly curated, and I no longer need it to be. There is purpose in the real, the raw, and even the rebuilding.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, and I think that is part of what makes my story worth telling.
One of my greatest challenges has been learning how to rebuild when life does not go according to plan. I have experienced career changes, the closing of a business I invested deeply in, financial setbacks, personal loss, health challenges, and seasons when I simply had to admit that what worked for me before was no longer sustainable.
Closing my salon was especially difficult because entrepreneurship had become such a large part of how I saw myself. Walking away felt like failure at first. In reality, it forced me to confront an important question: Who am I when the title, business, position, or thing I built is no longer there? That question eventually became part of the message I now share with other women.
I have also had to learn how to pursue purpose while still handling real life. I am balancing marriage, motherhood, a full-time career, college, entrepreneurship, ministry, and content creation. There have been seasons when I could not give everything 100 percent, and I had to stop treating rest, redirection, and starting again as signs that I was falling behind.
My faith has been the foundation that has carried me through those transitions. It has not made every season easy, but it has changed how I understand difficult seasons. I have learned that resilience is not pretending something did not hurt. Sometimes resilience looks like grieving what was, learning what the season came to teach you, and having enough courage to build again.
Today, I do not measure success solely by how much I can accomplish. I measure it by whether I am becoming a woman who can steward what I prayed for without losing herself in the process.
The road has not been smooth, but every detour has taught me something about faith, leadership, identity, and starting again. And if there is one thing my journey has taught me, it is this: rebuilding is not failure. Sometimes rebuilding is the evidence that you refused to stay where life knocked you down.
We’ve been impressed with Ashia J Unfiltered, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ashia J Unfiltered is a faith-forward lifestyle, apparel, and teaching brand created for women who are healing, growing, and becoming who God has called them to be.
What began as a desire to share my own journey authentically has grown into a platform that brings together faith, personal development, biblical teaching, leadership, speaking, content creation, and apparel. Through Bible study sessions, digital content, speaking engagements, and products, I create resources and conversations that encourage women to examine their identity beyond titles, accomplishments, relationships, and the versions of themselves they have learned to perform for other people.
What sets Ashia J Unfiltered apart is that I am not interested in presenting a perfectly curated version of faith or entrepreneurship. Unfiltered means we can talk about the parts of becoming that do not always make the highlight reel. We can talk about rebuilding, disappointment, identity, obedience, healing, accountability, leadership, and what it actually looks like to apply biblical truth to everyday life.
The apparel side of the brand allows women to wear those messages. My collections feature faith-centered statements designed to start conversations and remind the person wearing them of what she believes and who she is becoming. I want each product to have meaning beyond simply being something cute to wear.
I am especially proud that Ashia J Unfiltered has grown beyond the original idea I had for it. It has become an extension of my testimony, creativity, leadership, and ministry, while still giving me room to grow as an entrepreneur.
Ultimately, Ashia J Unfiltered is not about creating a perfect woman. It is about encouraging the becoming woman. The woman who is still learning, still healing, still being stretched, still asking questions, and still choosing to follow God in the middle of the process.
My goal is to continue expanding the brand through apparel, Bible study and educational resources, speaking, community experiences, and content that helps women move from simply being inspired to actually being transformed.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways people can connect, collaborate, and support the work I am building through Ashia J Unfiltered.
I am available for speaking engagements, women’s conferences, panel discussions, Bible studies, workshops, church and community events, and conversations centered around faith, identity, leadership, healing, personal growth, and becoming who God has called us to be.
I am also open to collaborations with churches, ministries, women-led organizations, entrepreneurs, content creators, and brands whose values align with faith, authenticity, personal development, and community impact. I believe collaboration should be more than exchanging audiences. The best partnerships create something meaningful that genuinely serves people.
