Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Bryant Griffin.
Hi michelle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My photography journey begins in Alaska when, on a whim, I entered three photos in the Alaska State Fair Amateur Photography Contest in 2005. I took two honorable mentions and a first place blue ribbon.
It was at that moment I realized I might have found my creative nitche.
I come from a long line of creative intellects and have ways been creative myself but never considered myself more than mediocre.
I took some photography classes and got my certification and started taking photos in an attempt to uncover my unique nitche.
Since then I have won multiple award and hold numerous meritorious awards for my portrait work at a nationally known Portrait Studio as well.
These images have been used in their promotional and marketing campaigns worldwide.
I ask people all the time saying, “I can capture the tenderness of a new baby, the love of an engaged couple, the energy of a child, the bond within a family, the beauty of a woman, and freeze time… what’s YOUR Superpower?”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Although I can (and do) shoot most any subject, It has taken me a while to find my specialty.
I thoroughly love shooting (boudoir) bombshell-style photography but also find many of my clients need professional headshots and branding photos as well.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

The best compliment I ever received was after a boudoir session. While looking at her proofs, the client, crying, looked at ne and said, “They are all so beautiful. You brought the inside to the outside. ”
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people might not know that Focus on Fabulous Creative photography began out of my own insecurity.
Being overweight and pushing 50, I felt unattractive. So while building my skills, shooting teens, senior portraits, families and couples’ engagement photos, I took some seductive shots of myself.
I discovered that, even unedited, with the right angles and lighting the images I took of myself looked great and if I could do that for someone overweight and nearly 50, I could do it for anyone.
