Community Highlights: Meet Olivia Jacobs of Presence Onsite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Jacobs.

Hi Olivia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Presence On-Site was created after recognizing a growing gap in support for families who cannot always be physically present for a loved one’s medical appointments. Whether due to work, distance, caregiving responsibilities, or other obligations, families often need a trusted person who can simply be there.

We created Presence On-Site to fill that gap by providing in-person appointment support, advocacy, communication, and timely visit summaries for families and caregivers. Our goal is simple: to ensure their loved one is supported during the appointment while giving families greater peace of mind and connection to their care.

That mission became the foundation of Presence On-Site: Providing presence, delivering peace of mind.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth or straightforward road. We realized early on that breaking into this industry requires building strong relationships, establishing trust, and creating meaningful connections within the community. One of our biggest challenges has simply been increasing awareness making sure families and organizations know that we’re here and understand the value of the support we provide.

At the same time, we’ve had to find the right balance between remaining focused on our mission of serving families and bridging a very real gap in care, while also building a sustainable business. Navigating that balance while continuing to grow our presence in the community has been one of our greatest challenges and an important part of our journey.

As you know, we’re big fans of Presence Onsite . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Presence Onsite provides in-person support for individuals attending medical appointments when a family member or caregiver cannot be there. We serve as a trusted presence during a variety of medical visits, including primary care appointments, urgent care visits, emergency room visits, and other healthcare appointments.

Our role is to help bridge the communication gap between patients, families, and providers. When family members cannot attend, we help ensure their questions are asked, important information is communicated, and they receive a clear understanding of what occurred during the visit—even when their loved one may have difficulty communicating those details themselves.

We also support individuals who may simply want someone to accompany them to an appointment. We can be there to listen, help them understand information shared by their provider, ask appropriate questions, and help ensure they leave with a clearer understanding of their next steps in care.

What sets Presence Onsite apart is that we fill a very specific gap. We are not transportation, home care, or a replacement for family—we are an additional layer of support when someone needs a trusted person to show up, be present, listen, and communicate.

Ultimately, our goal is to help patients feel supported and families feel connected, even when they cannot physically be there. That is the heart of our mission: Providing presence, delivering peace of mind.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that may surprise people is that we’re not only business partners, but a husband-and-wife team. People who meet us often assume that I’m the more outgoing and extroverted one, but it’s actually the opposite! My husband is naturally more extroverted and enjoys being out, connecting with people, and socializing, while I’m more introverted by nature. I think our different personalities complement each other well, both personally and professionally.
