Community Highlights: Meet Victoria Turner of Luxe Home Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Turner.

Victoria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am the founder of Luxe Home Solutions, a boutique vacation-rental management and property-care company serving owners throughout the coastal Carolinas. Today, I help owners protect and operate their short-term rentals through hands-on property oversight, revenue and pricing strategy, guest communication, listing management, inspections, maintenance coordination and professional cleaning and linen services. However, the company began much more simply.

I started cleaning professionally in 2015 as a way to put myself through college. At the time, I did not have a detailed plan to build a company or enter property management. I was simply willing to work hard, needed a flexible way to support my education and believed that if someone trusted me with their home, I should treat that responsibility seriously.

What began as a practical decision gradually became a genuine passion. As I gained experience, I noticed a consistent gap between what many service providers promised and what clients actually received. Details were overlooked, communication was inconsistent and customers often felt like one more address on a long schedule.

I learned early that the physical condition of a property affects far more than cleanliness. In a vacation rental, it influences guest satisfaction, reviews, maintenance costs, repeat bookings, revenue and the long-term value of the owner’s investment.

That operational experience eventually became the foundation of my approach to property management.

As clients began trusting me with more responsibility, my role expanded beyond preparing properties between guests. I started conducting inspections, documenting damage, coordinating repairs, managing linens and supplies, preparing homes for arrivals and resolving the unexpected problems that arise in hospitality.

I also became more involved in the business side of each rental, including guest communication, listing performance, seasonal pricing, minimum-stay strategies, booking pace and owner revenue goals.

The biggest turning point came when I began seeing how frequently vacation-rental owners were being taken advantage of or left without the information they needed to make good decisions. Some were paying for services that were not being completed properly. Others had management companies focused on adding more properties or filling calendars at any price, with too little attention given to the property’s condition, the quality of the guest or the owner’s long-term goals.

I realized that these owners did not simply need another cleaner, handyman or distant management company. They needed someone on the ground who could see the entire operation, connect the moving pieces and advocate for their investment.

That realization led me to build the management side of Luxe Home Solutions. Our approach is intentionally hands-on and selective. We do not measure success only by how many nights a calendar is booked. We consider the quality of each booking, the property’s operating costs, current market data, seasonal demand and the owner’s individual goals.

We also remain closely involved in the physical care of the home, because revenue strategy means very little if the property itself is being neglected.

No matter how the company has grown, giving back to our community has remained part of who we are. We have volunteered our time, supported local needs and created the Pink Strength Program for individuals and families facing cancer.

Through Pink Strength, each qualifying household can receive one complimentary cleaning per year, along with continued cleaning services at a reduced rate while they are navigating treatment.

The program reflects something I have believed since the beginning: a clean and cared-for home can provide more than appearance. It can create comfort, dignity and one less burden during an already overwhelming season of life. We never wanted community service to be something we would begin “one day” after the company became successful enough. It has grown alongside us.

Today, Luxe Home Solutions is a mother-and-daughter company providing vacation-rental management, property oversight, professional cleaning and linen services throughout the coastal Carolinas.

What started as a way to put myself through college has grown into a company trusted with people’s homes, investments, guest experiences and even their households during some of life’s hardest seasons. That trust is the part of our growth I am most proud of and something I never intend to take for granted.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I began this work while trying to put myself through college, and much of what I learned about business came from doing the work in real time. I was not only providing the service; I was also learning how to price it properly, communicate with clients, manage schedules, handle finances, solve problems and build systems that could support growth.

One of my earliest challenges was learning that caring deeply about clients can become a weakness if it is not paired with boundaries. In the beginning, I often believed being dependable meant saying yes to everything, solving every problem personally and making myself available at all times. That approach may work temporarily, but it is not sustainable. I had to learn that professionalism also means establishing clear expectations, protecting the company’s time and recognizing that not every client or opportunity is the right fit.

Building a reliable team and network of service providers has also been one of the most difficult parts of growing the company. Vacation-rental operations depend on many moving pieces, and one missed detail can affect a guest’s entire stay. A cleaner, maintenance provider, contractor or vendor may view something as a small oversight, but the owner and guest experience the combined result. I have had to make difficult staffing decisions, rebuild systems and occasionally step back into every role myself to ensure our standards were upheld.

The seasonal nature of the coastal vacation-rental industry presents another challenge. Owners are understandably emotionally and financially invested in their properties, so an open calendar, an unexpected repair or a negative guest experience can create immediate pressure. Part of my role is absorbing that pressure without making emotional decisions. I have learned to rely on market data, documentation, clear communication and a long-term strategy—even when the easiest response would be to panic, lower every rate or promise an outcome no one can guarantee.

I have also had to work harder at times to have my expertise recognized because my professional background began with cleaning. Some people initially see cleaning as separate from property management or business strategy. I see it differently. Working inside hundreds of homes taught me how properties deteriorate, which details guests notice, where service providers commonly fall short and how small operational problems become expensive ones when they are ignored.

That hands-on background is not something I had to overcome; it became one of my greatest professional advantages. It allows me to evaluate a vacation rental from both sides—the physical condition of the property and the financial performance of the investment.

Perhaps the most important lesson has been accepting that growth is not always measured by how many clients, employees or properties we can add. Sometimes growth means tightening a policy, ending the wrong professional relationship, rebuilding a process or choosing quality over rapid expansion. Some of the hardest moments in business have forced me to become clearer about who we are, what we stand for and what we are no longer willing to compromise.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Luxe Home Solutions is a mother-and-daughter vacation-rental management and property-care company serving the coastal Carolinas. We help owners manage both the business side of their rentals and the physical homes behind them.

A lot of management companies are strong on software, automated communication and collecting bookings, but they can be disconnected from what is actually happening inside the property. Cleaning companies may see the physical problems but are not involved in the pricing, guest communication or owner decisions. Luxe grew into the space between those two things.

Because my background is so hands-on, I naturally look at a rental differently. I am thinking about its pricing and booking performance, but I am also noticing the door that is beginning to stick, the linen that needs to be replaced or the small maintenance issue that could become an expensive repair if no one addresses it. To me, all of those things are connected.

We manage listings, communicate with guests, monitor booking pace, adjust pricing, coordinate repairs and make sure the property is ready for each arrival. We also provide our own cleaning and linen services. Owners can use those services separately, but having that operational side within the company gives us much more visibility when we are managing a property.

I would say we are best known for being very hands-on and honest with our owners. We are not trying to manage the largest number of properties possible. I would rather manage a smaller portfolio well, understand each owner’s goals and know what is happening inside every property than grow so quickly that our clients become numbers.

I am most proud of the trust we have built. Many of our owners live hours away, so they depend on us to tell them the truth, document what we see and make decisions with their investment in mind. I never want an owner to feel as though they have to chase their management company for answers or wonder whether anyone is genuinely watching over their home.

I am also proud that giving back has remained part of Luxe as we have grown. Through our Pink Strength Program, households affected by cancer can receive one complimentary cleaning each year and recurring services at a reduced rate while they are navigating treatment. We also volunteer and support needs within our community whenever we can.

At the end of the day, I want people to know that Luxe is not simply a cleaning company and it is not a distant property-management company. We are the people on the ground connecting the business, the guest experience and the physical care of the property.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about the Grand Strand is that it offers both opportunity and a sense of community. Millions of people visit the area each year, but beneath the tourism is a network of local families, small-business owners and service professionals who keep everything moving. I love the ocean, the beautiful sunrises and the fact that there is always something new happening, but I also appreciate how quickly people here can come together when a neighbor or local family needs support.

From a business perspective, this area has given me room to grow alongside the people I serve. Our clients include longtime residents, vacation-rental owners who live several states away and guests experiencing the Carolinas for the first time. I enjoy being part of what makes the area feel welcoming to all of them.

What do I like least? Highway 501 traffic—without hesitation. The Grand Strand has grown rapidly, and sometimes the roads and infrastructure have not grown quite as quickly as the population. During peak season, a drive that should take 20 minutes can become a full lesson in patience.

Still, the traffic is ultimately a reflection of how many people want to live, work and vacation here. I may complain while sitting in it, but I understand why so many people are drawn to this area. I was drawn to it too.
