Daily Inspiration: Meet Hatice Lance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hatice Lance.

Hi Hatice, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started as a teenager to take photographs. I cleaned offices for 4 weeks to get the money together for a small Kodak Pocket Camera with flash cubes. Self taught through books and later online education.
Throughout the 35 years I evolved and kept learning to master my craft.
I now have a in home studio with professional equipment, huge studio wardrobe and love to design unique looks for my clients as well.
I love my craft and hope I will photograph as many years I can.
My brand is about women mainly, helping them to see themself as powerhouses, trailblazers, leaders;
giving them the space of freedom and safety to come out of their shell and be unapologetically HER!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges was my move from Germany to the U.S. leaving all my clients behind and starting over.
There was so much to learn being a mom of two and a mil. spouse it took me a while to rebuild and learn how to do business here.
For a while I was lost but that didn’t stop me. My passion for my craft was bigger than the culture shock and the struggles.
After finding myself again I started to built myself and the brand I am today for every women needing that kind of support through a photo session that is all about empowerment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a portrait photographer that loves to create creative looks and shoots that are unique and fashion oriented.
Seeing and hearing clients having fun is one of the most beneficial moments.
I am proud to have overcome my struggles so today I can help others to evolve and feel seen, loved and supported.
Most proud; hmmm; of every woman that I witnessed to leave my studio as a whole new person, even if it was only for moment.
Women walking taller, jumping around in tutus and laughing carelessly and unapologetically in my studio!
THAT IS IT! So gratifying.
I am not sure what sets me apart from others because I don’t know what others are going for.
I know I want to keep learning, growing, creating, serving in the most professional way until my last breath.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The only competition we have is our old self, don’t be afraid of change.
Change is uncomfortable but necessary and vital.
Every level brings a new ‘devil and that is ok because that is what growth and life is about.
Keep going and growing, get off the waiting list you put yourself on the go or stay behind and regret because the right time is now.
Don’t worry about how, just go for your goals and dreams and eventually everything will fall into place.
