Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyx Scott.
Hi Alyx, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Back in 2018 I decided I wanted to go to school for aesthetics and upon finishing, my mom and I decided to work together to create a work space that benefited women in the beauty industry. We started Lusso Beauty Bar as a collective space for women to start their own beauty business by booth renting suite spaces inside our salon. We are a collective and collaborative effort which is exactly what we wanted from the beginning. It was always my mom and I running it till about 2 years ago when she stepped back and I took it over fully. All while we were in this process I was growing my own esthetics business. I focus primarily on waxing, facials, and spray tans. I also do lash lifts and brow laminations. I have taken pride in doing a lot of continuous education to make sure I’m always up to date and knowledgeable in the services that I offer to my clients. I’ve been able to bring in all types of services and expansions to previous services to be able to always provide for what my clients are looking for. My main goal is to always make sure my clients are feeling cared for and respected to the best of my ability. I want my space to be a space of comfort and peace.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely it has not always been a smooth road. Covid was really hard for us as it was for many small businesses. Salons/spas were some of the last things to open and it put a lot of our smaller solo beauty businesses in tight spots where they could no longer afford to rent from us. During this time we also had issues with our landlord at our old location and they informed us we had to find a new place to rent. So that put us in a tight spot with not a lot of money, renters, and now no place to work. My mom and I were quite stressed but the place we currently are landed in our lap and was absolutely perfect. It was great for the style of business we were running and ended up being the biggest blessing in disguise. Business boomed in our new space and I think it’s because it showed how driven we were to continue.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Specifically with Lusso Beauty Bar we are a booth/suite rental salon. We rent out rooms to other beauty professionals so they can run their own businesses without the overhead of a major store front on their own. I specifically also have a room inside Lusso Beauty Bar where I run Alyx Esthetics and I specialize in all things esthetics. I offer full body waxing, brow and facial waxing, spray tans, and facials. I’ve been an esthetician for 8 years and I absolutely love my job. I pride myself on making everyone who comes into my space feel comfortable and confident! My biggest goal is that when clients come in I want them to feel confident in the skin they already had when they came in, we just enhanced what was already there. My most popular services include Brazilians, lash lifts, and brow services. I also do spray tans where I specialize in custom color formations using a spray tan with natural DHA to help enhance my clients skin making the tan natural and glowy!

I also have my CPT and teach group fitness on the side at Burn Boot Camp in Surfside Beach. My whole career in all aspects is focused on wellness, both inside and out!
