Hi Charity, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey has been a little unconventional. By day, I’ve worked as a dental hygienist since 2014, but in 2019 I decided to pursue a creative passion that had been on my heart for years. I started sharing my love for seasonal decorating, DIY projects, baking, gardening, and creating a cozy home on social media under the name **Mornings on Macedonia**.
What began as a hobby quickly turned into something much bigger. I loved showing people that you don’t have to spend a fortune to create a beautiful home or make meaningful memories. Whether it’s decorating for fall, sharing a family recipe, or creating an easy DIY project, my goal has always been to inspire others to find joy in the little moments at home.
Like many small business owners and creators, the journey hasn’t always been easy. I’ve balanced building my brand while working a full-time career, often creating content late at night, on weekends, and during any free moment I could find. I’ve also faced personal health challenges that have taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of pursuing work that truly brings you joy.
Over the years, Mornings on Macedonia has grown into an amazing community across social media and my blog, where I get to partner with brands I genuinely love while continuing to create content that feels authentic to who I am. Seeing people recreate one of my recipes, try a DIY project I shared, or tell me that my content inspired them to decorate their home for the first time is incredibly rewarding.
Looking back, I’m grateful I took a chance on sharing my creativity online. What started as a small hobby has become a thriving business and a creative outlet that allows me to connect with people from all over the country. My story is proof that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start—you just have to be willing to take that first step, stay consistent, and keep showing up, even when growth feels slow. You never know where that leap of faith might lead.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. Like most small business owners and creators, there have been plenty of challenges along the way. Building a business while working a full-time career has meant a lot of late nights, early mornings, and weekends spent creating content instead of relaxing. There were many times I questioned whether all the hard work would eventually pay off.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency matters more than overnight success. Social media is constantly changing, and there are seasons where growth slows, algorithms shift, or content doesn’t perform the way you hoped. Learning not to tie my worth to numbers and instead focus on creating content that genuinely serves my audience has been one of the most valuable mindset shifts.
On a more personal level, I’ve also been navigating chronic health challenges over the past several years. There have been times when balancing doctor appointments, treatments, and my day job while continuing to create content felt overwhelming. But in many ways, those experiences have strengthened my appreciation for this business and reinforced my goal of eventually turning content creation into my full-time career. It has shown me the importance of building a career that offers both creativity and flexibility.
Looking back, I’m actually grateful for many of those obstacles because they’ve taught me perseverance. Every challenge has helped shape not only my business but also the person I am today. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that success rarely happens in a straight line. The setbacks often become the very experiences that prepare you for the opportunities ahead.

At the heart of what I do, I help people create a home they love through approachable DIY projects, seasonal decorating inspiration, recipes, gardening, and simple ideas for making everyday life feel a little more special. Through my blog and social media, Mornings on Macedonia, I share affordable projects and attainable inspiration that encourage people to embrace every season and create meaningful moments at home.
I think what I’m best known for is celebrating the little things. Whether it’s decorating for fall months before everyone else, baking a cozy dessert, transforming thrifted finds into beautiful home décor, or sharing a simple DIY anyone can recreate, I love showing that you don’t need a huge budget or a perfectly curated home to make your space feel warm and inviting.
One thing that sets me apart is authenticity. I don’t create content just because it’s trending—I create what I genuinely love and what reflects how I actually live. My audience has followed along through home projects, recipes, gardening successes (and failures), and even some of life’s more difficult seasons. That honesty has helped me build a community that feels more like friends than followers.
I’m especially proud of building Mornings on Macedonia while working a full-time career. What started as a creative outlet has grown into a thriving business that allows me to collaborate with brands I truly believe in while inspiring thousands of people to get creative in their own homes. Every message from someone who tried one of my recipes, recreated one of my DIYs, or found the confidence to decorate their home because of something I shared reminds me exactly why I started.
More than anything, I hope people leave my page feeling inspired—not intimidated. I want them to see that creating a beautiful, welcoming home isn’t about perfection; it’s about making the most of what you have and finding joy in the everyday moments.

I love to read, especially thriller books. It keeps my mind occupied and helps me relax. I also love to listen to my favorite comedian’s podcast, John Crist NetPositive. When I get busy and overwhelmed, it’s nice to listen to something that takes my mind off everything and makes me laugh!
