Hi Jametras Jamie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the beauty industry began with a passion for creativity and helping others feel confident. What started as a love for nail artistry eventually grew into a desire to educate and empower others, leading me to become a licensed nail instructor. Along the way, I realized my purpose extended beyond teaching nail techniques—I wanted to help others build confidence, develop entrepreneurial skills, and create opportunities for themselves through beauty education.
Today, I’m the founder of Experience Nails Academy, where my mission is to provide quality nail education while inspiring the next generation of beauty professionals. I’m also expanding my work into youth empowerment by creating workshops and community events that combine nail education, entrepreneurship, and personal development. Every step of this journey has reinforced my belief that success isn’t just about mastering a skill—it’s about creating meaningful opportunities that can change lives.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has had its share of challenges. Building a business requires patience, consistency, and the willingness to keep learning. There have been moments of self-doubt, balancing personal responsibilities with business goals, and figuring out how to grow while staying true to my vision. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight—it comes from showing up, adapting, and continuing to invest in yourself. Every obstacle has strengthened my resilience and reinforced my passion for educating and empowering others through Experience Nails Academy. As a mother and entrepreneur, I’ve learned how to balance family, work, and the demands of building a business, and that experience has taught me the value of perseverance and purpose

As the founder of Experience Nails Academy, I specialize in nail education, mentorship, and empowering aspiring beauty professionals with the skills and confidence to build successful careers. While I teach technical nail skills, my passion extends beyond the classroom. I focus on helping individuals develop professionalism, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the confidence to pursue their goals.
One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is creating a brand with a purpose. Experience Nails Academy is about more than nails—it’s about creating opportunities, inspiring growth, and making a positive impact in the community. I’m especially excited to expand that mission by developing youth workshops and empowerment events that introduce young people to beauty careers, entrepreneurship, and personal development.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just teach a trade—I strive to build confidence, encourage leadership, and help others see what’s possible for their future. My goal is for every student to leave with not only new skills, but also the belief that they can create opportunities for themselves and achieve lasting success.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a lifelong learner, so I’m always looking for inspiration and ways to grow both personally and professionally. One podcast I enjoy is Kris Kaylin’s The Princess diaries, because it offers encouraging conversations about entrepreneurship, purpose, and building a meaningful brand. Canva has also become an essential tool for creating marketing materials and bringing my ideas to life. One book that has had a lasting impact on me is The Richest Man in Babylon. Its timeless lessons on financial discipline, wealth-building, and stewardship have influenced the way I approach both business and life. Above all, I believe staying teachable and continuously learning is one of the greatest investments you can make in yourself.
