Hi Marvisha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Moultrie, Georgia, but I moved to Columbia, South Carolina, after joining the U.S. Army. Looking back, every chapter of my life has prepared me for what I’m doing today, even if I didn’t realize it at the time.
After serving in the Army, I earned my degree from the University of South Carolina and worked in several different industries, including education and culinary arts. I also lived in South Korea for two years, where I was introduced to the foreign exchange market. That experience sparked my interest in trading and opened the door to learning more about investing, financial literacy, and wealth building.
As I continued learning, people naturally started asking me questions. Before I knew it, I was spending just as much time teaching as I was trading. That’s when I realized my passion wasn’t just making money—it was helping other people understand how money works.
That led me to create Wealthy Hustlers Academy.
What started as sharing knowledge with a few people has grown into a financial education community where we teach trading, investing, entrepreneurship, budgeting, life insurance, and financial literacy. My goal has never been to sell people a dream. I want to give everyday people the knowledge and confidence to create opportunities for themselves and build long-term wealth.
Today, I’m continuing to grow Wealthy Hustlers Academy by creating new courses, hosting live trading sessions, mentoring students, and expanding our educational resources. The best part of the journey has been watching my students succeed—whether that’s passing funded trading accounts, starting businesses, improving their financial habits, or simply believing in themselves again.
I’m still building, still learning, and still growing, but I’m proud of how far we’ve come. More than anything, I hope my story shows people that your background doesn’t have to determine your future. With the right mindset, education, and consistency, it’s possible to create opportunities that can change not only your life, but your family’s for generations.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. If I’m being honest, entrepreneurship has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
There have been seasons where I questioned if I was doing the right thing because progress didn’t happen overnight. I’ve had to build my business while navigating personal responsibilities, financial challenges, and the everyday realities of life. There were times when I was working multiple jobs, building my business after hours, and wondering if all the sacrifices would eventually pay off.
One thing people don’t always see is that entrepreneurship requires a lot of patience. Social media often highlights overnight success, but most businesses are built one small step at a time. There were moments when I had to remind myself that just because growth wasn’t happening as quickly as I wanted didn’t mean I wasn’t making progress.
I’ve also learned that setbacks don’t mean you’re on the wrong path. I’ve had businesses evolve, ideas change, and plans that didn’t work out the way I expected. Instead of looking at those moments as failures, I’ve learned to see them as lessons that helped me build something stronger.
Today, I still face challenges because that’s part of entrepreneurship, but my mindset is different. I don’t expect the road to be easy anymore. I expect it to require discipline, consistency, and the willingness to keep going even when no one is clapping for you.
Looking back, every obstacle has helped shape the entrepreneur and educator I am today. If everything had gone according to my original plan, I don’t think Wealthy Hustlers Academy would have become what it is. Every challenge taught me something I now pass on to my students, and for that, I’m grateful.
We’ve been impressed with Wealthy Hustlers Academy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wealthy Hustlers Academy is more than a trading community—it’s a financial education platform built to help everyday people develop the knowledge and skills to create long-term wealth.
Our motto is “From Hustle to Wealth,” and that’s the foundation of everything we do.
While many people know us for trading education, trading is only one piece of what we teach. We also provide education on investing, budgeting, entrepreneurship, life insurance, financial literacy, and building multiple streams of income because I believe true wealth comes from understanding how money works as a whole.
We offer self-paced online courses, live trading sessions, mentorship, educational resources, and a supportive community where people can learn, ask questions, and grow together. My goal has always been to create a space where people feel comfortable learning, regardless of their experience level.
I think what sets Wealthy Hustlers Academy apart is our focus on education before income. I don’t believe in selling people unrealistic expectations or making entrepreneurship and trading look easy. We emphasize discipline, risk management, consistency, and building a strong financial foundation first. If our students make money but don’t know how to manage it, we’ve missed the bigger picture.
Another thing that makes us different is that I teach from real-life experience. I’ve worked multiple jobs, served in the military, built businesses from the ground up, experienced setbacks, and continued learning through every stage of my journey. Because of that, I understand the people we’re serving. Many of our members aren’t looking for shortcuts—they’re looking for opportunities to change their lives and create a better future for their families.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the community we’re building. Watching students gain confidence, pass funded trading accounts, improve their financial habits, start businesses, and believe in themselves is far more rewarding than any personal milestone I’ve reached.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that Wealthy Hustlers Academy is about empowerment. We want people to leave with more than information—we want them to leave with confidence, practical skills, and the belief that wealth is something they can build, regardless of where they started.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
People probably assume that because I’m a trader, I love taking big risks. The truth is, I’m actually the opposite.
Trading taught me that risk isn’t something you avoid—it’s something you learn to manage.
That lesson has carried over into every area of my life. Joining the Army was a risk because I was leaving my hometown and everything I had ever known. Becoming an entrepreneur was a risk because there were no guarantees. Starting Wealthy Hustlers Academy was a risk because I was building something I believed in before I knew if anyone else would.
But none of those decisions were reckless. They were calculated.
I think people often confuse risk with gambling, and they’re not the same. Gambling is hoping things work out. Calculated risk is doing your research, understanding what could go wrong, having a plan, and making a decision anyway because you believe the potential reward is worth it.
That’s exactly how I teach trading. It’s not about winning every trade. It’s about protecting your downside, managing your emotions, and putting yourself in a position where one bad decision doesn’t wipe out everything you’ve worked for.
I approach life the same way.
Every opportunity comes with some level of risk, but I ask myself two questions: “What’s the worst that could happen?” and “Can I recover if it doesn’t work?” If the answer is yes, I’m usually willing to take the chance because I know growth rarely happens inside your comfort zone.
One thing I tell my students all the time is that the biggest risk isn’t always losing money. Sometimes the biggest risk is staying exactly where you are because you’re too afraid to try.
Every major opportunity in my life—from the Army to entrepreneurship to building Wealthy Hustlers Academy—started with a calculated risk. Looking back, those decisions changed the trajectory of my life.
So yes, I believe in taking risks. I just believe they should be informed, intentional, and backed by preparation. That’s how you build confidence, whether you’re trading the markets or building a business.
