Life & Work with Edwin Lewers of South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edwin Lewers.

Hi Edwin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been media savvy since I was in high school, doing everything I could to work with different production interfaces on computers while creating music. My favorite music was always in film and my music reflected that. I was unsure of what direction I should go until I took a trip to Germany and purchased a DSLR right before the trip. I learned how to operate it quickly and decided to start making videos. The editing software came natural, and that’s when I decided to start applying it to build a business. After filming and editing a couple of weddings, I received a grant from my church. With that, and everything I had previously learned, I started gaining experience at a rapid pace and built a team.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Fortunately, it’s been a smooth road. 90% of our business has been word of mouth and we love most of our clients and the experiences we have with them. It’s truly an honor to share key events with so many different people. The most difficult obstacle is time. There’s so much to learn and do in this industry that you’re always in a state of learning and practicing that I often wish I had more time to explore.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We bring stories to life! We specialize in making sure that the story of our client’s events are told through dynamic photos and video. We aim to make sure that if you weren’t there, you would know exactly what happened and be able to relive the event through our media This flows perfectly into what we specialize in, which is documentary style video that we offer for any occasion. Our best work is when we create documentary-styled wedding films that are timeless!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see the industry continuing to grow and thrive. There will always be a need for creatives through photography and videography services. With additional resources like AI and affordable consumer equipment, more people will have the opportunity to create and let their vision and work be seen.
