Life & Work with $avage Of OTB of South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to $avage Of OTB.

Hi $avage, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my music journey in 2008 at just 12 years old, developing my sound and passion for hip-hop long before stepping into the spotlight. After years of dedication and growth, I officially released my first project, IiamSav, in 2019, marking the beginning of my professional recording career. Since 2020, I have traveled across multiple states, building my fanbase through live performances and sharing stages with notable artists such as DaBaby and Montana of 300. Known for my relentless work ethic and authentic storytelling, I continue to expand my reach while proudly representing the Carolinas. Today, I am focused on completing a new project set to release at the end of the year and am actively accepting bookings for performances, showcases, and special events.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an independent artist in South Carolina is challenging because there are fewer music industry resources, major venues, and networking opportunities compared to larger music markets. Success often requires funding your own career, traveling for opportunities, and consistently building a fanbase through hard work and persistence.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a recording artist, songwriter, performer, and producer known as $avage of OTB. I specialize in creating authentic music that blends real-life experiences, storytelling, and Southern culture into a sound that connects with listeners. Over the years, I’ve built my career independently, releasing music, performing in multiple states, and opening for artists such as DaBaby and Montana of 300. What I’m most proud of is turning a passion I started at 12 years old into a growing career without major label backing. What sets me apart is my versatility, work ethic, and ability to create not only music, but also experiences through live performances, visual content, and creative projects that keep fans engaged.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My view on risk is simple: if you believe in yourself, you have to be willing to bet on yourself. One of the biggest risks I’ve taken is investing my own time, money, and energy into my music career without knowing exactly how things would turn out. As an independent artist, every show, release, and opportunity requires sacrifice. I’ve traveled, made personal sacrifices, and stayed committed to my goals because I understand that rewards often come from taking calculated risks. Not every risk pays off immediately, but every sacrifice has helped me grow, gain experience, and move closer to where I want to be in my career.
