Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Russo.
Hi Kim, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story really began with creativity. I’ve been a creative artist since I was young, so design has always felt like something that was naturally part of me. Over time, that natural gift grew into more than 20 years of experience in graphic design, web design, branding, packaging, printing, and helping businesses bring their ideas to life visually.
Before starting my own business, I gained a lot of hands on experience working in different areas of design and branding, including packaging and print. I also helped grow a print shop with my ex, which taught me so much about production, customer service, business operations, and what it really takes to serve clients well. Eventually, after a major life transition, I made the decision to leave that chapter behind and create something of my own.
Starting over was not easy, but it pushed me to trust myself, my creativity, and my purpose on a deeper level. I took everything I had learned from design, packaging, printing, web, branding, and business experience and used it as the foundation for my own brand. Today, I help businesses and entrepreneurs create branding, design, and visual materials that feel aligned, intentional, and professional.
Where I am today is a result of resilience, faith, creativity, and a deep belief that design is more than just making something look good. For me, it’s about helping people communicate who they are, attract the right audience, and feel confident in how their business shows up in the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not always been a smooth road, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. One of the biggest lessons came from learning what not to do in business through past experiences, including my time helping grow a print shop with my ex. That chapter taught me a lot about boundaries, leadership, business structure, communication, and the importance of trusting myself.
As a creative, I also had to learn that having talent and skill is only one part of running a successful business. I invested a lot into learning how to actually operate, market, price, and grow a business around my creative gifts. Along the way, I experienced some investment wounds, where I put money, time, or trust into things that did not always give back what I hoped they would. Those moments were hard, but they helped me become wiser, more intentional, and more grounded as a business owner.
The road has shaped me. It has taught me resilience, discernment, and the importance of building a business that is aligned with who I am, not just what I can create.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is centered around helping entrepreneurs and businesses bring their brands to life through intentional design, branding, web design, packaging, and creative strategy. I specialize in creating visuals that not only look beautiful, but also communicate clearly, feel aligned, and help a business show up with confidence. With over 20 years of experience in graphic design and web design, along with a strong background in packaging and print, I understand how to create branding that feels polished, professional, and memorable.
I’m known for my intuitive approach to design. I have always been a creative artist, so this work comes naturally to me, but I’ve also spent years developing the skill, strategy, and business understanding behind it. I can often see the bigger vision for a brand and help bring it into a visual form that feels true to the person or business behind it. My goal is always to create designs that feel intentional, aligned, and connected to the client’s purpose.
What I’m most proud of is the way I’ve been able to turn my creativity, experience, and life lessons into a business that helps others feel seen and confident in their own brands. What sets me apart is the combination of natural creativity, over two decades of design experience, packaging knowledge, print experience, web design, and intuition. I don’t just create something pretty. I create branding that has meaning, direction, and a strong visual presence.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see the design and branding industry continuing to shift in a big way because of AI. I do believe AI can be a powerful tool when used with intention. It can help with ideas, speed, organization, and creative exploration, but I do not believe it replaces true creativity, strategy, intuition, or the human connection behind a strong brand.
As AI becomes more common, I think we will start to see a lot of brands and visuals looking very similar. That is where the human touch will become even more valuable. People are going to crave originality, personality, emotion, and design that feels connected to a real story. Businesses will need branding that does more than just look trendy. They will need branding that feels unique, authentic, and aligned with who they are.
I believe the future of the industry will belong to creatives who know how to use technology without losing their voice. AI can support the process, but the vision, taste, strategy, and emotional connection still come from the designer. For me, that is exciting because my work has always been rooted in intuition, creativity, and helping people express what makes them different.
