Hi Desiree, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From home based to thriving boutique spa, I started with just a dream. I could see myself serving and pampering others with results that not only lasted but helped upgrade the confidence of my clients through lash artistry. With my clients encouraging me to share my love for the skill, I created Lash Gurl Pro a training and education program that teaches other lash artist how to retain clients and give them the same feeling of confidence!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. Getting licensed as an instructor requires a 45 hour class that will help you learn how to create lesson plans and successfully teach adult learners. While it may seem easy to take a concept and make it 123’s and ABC’s.. the course proved difficult as it’s not only about teaching a concept. Becoming an instructor means you have to keep your learners engaged while making sure the concept is being absorbed and understood. If you are an educator you know that adult learners are the most difficult to teach. Most of the time, you have to help them unlearn and then relearn said topic or ways of doing things.
We’ve been impressed with Lash Gurl Pro, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lash Gurl Pro is a lash training and beauty business education system I curated after teaching over 1600 students from 2021 to today. I noticed that many adult learners have obstacles such as bills, taking care of their homes, and job schedules that prevent them from learning to their full capacity. Many women want to learn a “pink collar” skill but don’t know where to start. Lash Gurl Pro™ is on a mission to eliminate confusion, undercharging, and inconsistency in the lash industry by developing artist who don’t just perform services but set the standard as skilled and confident lash professionals. Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If you’re just starting out you have to make a plan that makes sense. Lash application is sacred and it takes many hours to perfect it. At Lash Gurl Pro we operate within The Lash Gurl Standard™ which is is built on five pillars:
