Today we’d like to introduce you to Lady Joi.
Hi Lady, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey has been one of faith, resilience, and divine alignment. I started as a young woman with a passion for communication, creativity, and helping people see the value within themselves. After earning my degree in Mass Communications from Claflin University, I stepped into media, branding, and ministry simultaneously—never fully separating the call of God from my professional pursuits.
Over the years, I have worn many hats: pastor, first lady, radio personality, television host, author, and entrepreneur. I am the founder of multiple businesses, including Pieces of Joi Entertainment, POJÉ Cosmetics, DeLaJoi Publishing, and Zolam Communications. Each of these was birthed from a place of purpose—to serve, uplift, and create platforms for others to be seen and heard.
In addition to business and ministry, I founded D.R.E.A.M. Pushers INC, a movement and organization centered on empowering individuals to pursue purpose with intention. Through conferences, trainings, and strategic sessions, we help people move from vision to manifestation. I also created the Ladies First Empowerment Network, a safe and intentional community designed specifically for women in leadership—particularly Pastor’s Wives—to grow, connect, and be strengthened in both life and calling.
My ministry, Anointed God-Revealed Truth Ministries, is rooted in the message “Healing To Grow Well,” and that has been the foundation of my life’s work. Whether in the pulpit, on the airwaves, through business, or through empowerment platforms, my mission has remained the same: to help people heal, grow, and walk boldly in who they were created to be.
I didn’t arrive here overnight. This has been a journey of obedience, sacrifice, and trusting God even when the path was unclear. Every step has shaped me into the woman and leader I am today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has absolutely not been a smooth road. My journey has included seasons of uncertainty, financial challenges, rebuilding, and moments where I had to start over with nothing but faith and vision.
One of the greatest challenges has been balancing ministry, entrepreneurship, and leadership across multiple platforms while remaining authentic in each space. There were times when doors didn’t open the way I expected, when support didn’t come from where I thought it would, and when I had to push forward without validation.
Building organizations like D.R.E.A.M. Pushers INC and cultivating safe, impactful spaces like the Ladies First Empowerment Network also required vision, patience, and consistency—especially when building community from the ground up.
I’ve also faced the challenge of being a woman in leadership—carrying vision, making decisions, and standing firm in spaces that don’t always make room for your voice. But those challenges didn’t break me; they refined me.
Every obstacle taught me discipline, strengthened my faith, and deepened my understanding of purpose. I learned how to build, rebuild, and build again—with wisdom. I now see challenges not as setbacks, but as setups for greater clarity and elevation.
We’ve been impressed with Pieces of Joi Entertainment | POJÉ Cosmetics | Zolam Communications | DeLaJoi Publishing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the CEO and founder of several purpose-driven brands, but collectively, my work centers around empowerment, media, ministry, and beauty.
My flagship business, Pieces of Joi Entertainment, is a public relations and marketing firm that has been operating for over 19 years. Through it, I’ve helped individuals and brands position themselves strategically and authentically in their industries.
POJÉ Cosmetics is my beauty brand, created to provide affordable luxury cosmetics specifically designed for women of color. It’s vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, and built on the belief that every woman deserves to “show the world her color” with confidence.
I also lead Zolam Communications, the parent company of Pure 92.9 FM, an inspirational radio platform focused on music for the mind, body, and soul. Alongside that, DeLaJoi Publishing helps bring stories and messages to life through books and written content.
D.R.E.A.M. Pushers INC is one of the most impactful extensions of my work. It is where purpose meets strategy—helping individuals across industries develop, launch, and execute their visions through structured experiences, including our annual conference and specialized training environments.
The Ladies First Empowerment Network is another heart-centered initiative, focused on building a strong, supportive community for women—especially those in ministry leadership. It provides a space for connection, growth, healing, and honest conversations that are often missing in leadership circles.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just build businesses—I build ecosystems. Everything I create connects back to purpose, healing, and growth. Whether it’s ministry, media, entrepreneurship, or empowerment communities, my work is intentional and impact-driven.
What I’m most proud of is not just the brands themselves, but the lives that have been touched, the voices that have been amplified, and the legacy that is being built. My work is bigger than me—it’s about creating opportunities and pathways for others.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about the city is the diversity of people, ideas, and culture. There is so much creativity and potential, and I appreciate spaces that allow individuals to express themselves and build something meaningful.
What I like least is that sometimes the pace of growth can outmove the sense of community. It’s easy for people to feel overlooked or disconnected if intentional efforts aren’t made to build relationships and support one another.
I believe every city has the capacity to thrive when collaboration and community are prioritized alongside success.
