Hi Leonard, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Leonard Daniels, and I am a native of South Carolina, born in a small historical town called Walterboro A.k.a (The Front Porch of the Low Country)! Because Walterboro is the county seat of Colleton County, which is 25 minutes from Charleston S.C, the nickname is often used interchangeably to represent both the town and the surrounding county area. The phrase specifically highlights the city’s Southern hospitality and its geographical location as a welcoming gateway to the South Carolina Lowcountry.!
I grew up around real Gullah Geechie Ancestors, Old School Southern Farmers, Plantations, Swamps, fishing, Crabbing, shrimps, Church and Country Cooking!
My favorite childhood Memory was catching and eating Blue Crabs 🦀
So, in 2008 I moved back home to Walterboro S.C after 18 years in Orlando Florida and became a Ordained Pastor and Commercial Crabber, “What a combination!
I Later became A Chef, creating my own Sauce and seasonings by an act of faith 🙏🏿
The Kings Sauce Company Originally started in 2009 in the Old Combahee River!
The Combahee River is a 40-mile blackwater river in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina. Formed by the confluence of the Salkehatchie and Little Salkehatchie rivers, it flows southeast to empty into St. Helena Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. It is highly celebrated for its pivotal Civil War history and pristine natural estuary.
The Combahee River is most famous for the Combahee River Raid on June 2, 1863, during the American Civil War.
Harriet Tubman served as a scout, spy, and nurse for the Union Army. She planned and helped lead the raid alongside Union Colonel James Montgomery.
And here is where my life made change for the better!
This is where I learned to pray and The Kings Sauce Company birth from!!
One year there was so much Blue Crabs in the river, that all the crabbers had flood the market!
So, I was stuck. With Tons of Crabs.
I had more Crabs than Wholesale Customers!
I was going through a great storm in life at this time; Divorce, Broke, Bill’s debts rolling in!
So, I prayed and ask God what to do!
That night I had a vision that I made a Garlic Butter sauce, in the vision the Lord reveal a recipe to me, it was plain as day. That recipe The Lord gave me, not only save me financially, The Lord saved my life and built my faith in him!
So, I dedicated the Sauce and the Company Him, Name The business the The King Sauce, because it was the Lord who gave me the recipe!
I would go to city’s cooking on the side of the road, Neighborhoods, and flea Markets! They began to call me John Baptist, because I would be preaching and cooking! I have a Tub that I traveled with baptizing people, while set up cooking! Lol!
Today our Sauce, that same Kings Sauce is in Several Hundred Supermarkets, Historical Sites and has been sold to people all over the world !! Thanks to Jesus Christ my King!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road!
In the year 2019 I decided to bottle the sauce, Getting permits, Licenses, the Legalities. certifications, studying, and fighting to keep its original recipe and having no Idea how the commercial side work of trying get our Garlic Butter Kings Sauce on the shelves of Grocery stores . Then in midst of the struggle, Cov- 19 hits us!! My God!!! They Food Industry changed the rules and I had to start over from Ground 0, And I mean mored than once! But God brought me through it. I member the day they tested my product and Agricultural handed me my permit for the sauce!
Excited times ten!
But I was clueless of what comes next!
I need stores who will sell my product, I need money to make volume, where do I get bottles, boxes, ingredients cheaper, the list goes on . And Once the Lord brought me through every battle.
Was taken advantage of by few companies and even some people I trusted!

We hire local . We create sauce in season’s that are Good for your health.
We don’t use preservatives!
