Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Fischett.
Hi Sophia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing photography in 2017, taking after my sister who took up photography herself when we were younger. I’ve tried my hand in almost everything, family photography, weddings, portraits, senior sessions, engagement shoots, sporting events. Over the years, I’ve fallen in love with sports photography! I still do normal photography like family photos but I definitely prefer sports!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a decent road I could say. My camera is very old and doesn’t work properly anymore so I have had to resort to borrowing cameras or renting ones to do shoots. My biggest struggle is just being able to afford new equipment. I wish I had more bookings and such, but it’s all apart of the process!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
So as far as my own photography, I pretty much do everything. I’ve done a few weddings, mostly do family photos, engagement photos, and portrait sessions. I work full time as a sports and action photographer with a company called Photomules. We do football, baseball, cheerleading, wrestling, softball, soccer, ect. I’d say I’m most proud of my sport action work. I love being able to freeze a moment in time.
I think that’s what sets me apart from others, my photos tell stories. Whether they’re sport photos or normal pictures.
How do you define success?
I define success as progress. Success is something you’ll always reach for, because it’s definition will forever change as you do because you’ll reach your goals, then make new goals and new versions of success.
