Conversations with Alexandria Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Jackson.

Hi Alexandria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My Pilates journey began with a desire to relieving anxiety and stress. What I didn’t expect was how much Pilates would change my confidence, mindset, and overall outlook on life. As I continued practicing, I fell in love with the method and became fascinated by how movement could help people feel stronger, more capable, and more connected to their bodies.
That passion inspired me to pursue instructor training. The process challenged me in ways I never imagined and required a significant commitment of time, study, and personal growth. Along the way, I learned that teaching Pilates is about much more than exercise, it’s about helping people build confidence, trust themselves, and discover what they’re capable of.
Since becoming certified, I’ve taught hundreds of classes and continued expanding my education through additional training programs. One of the most rewarding parts of my journey has been watching clients achieve goals they once thought were out of reach, whether that’s moving without pain, building strength, or simply feeling more confident in their own skin.
Today, I continue to teach, learn, and grow while working toward my dream of becoming a studio owner and master trainer. My mission is to help women feel strong, confident, and empowered through movement. Looking back, every challenge and every opportunity has reinforced my belief that growth happens when you’re willing to step outside your comfort zone and pursue what truly lights you up.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Like many people pursuing a dream, I’ve faced my share of challenges along the way. One of the biggest was balancing instructor training, teaching, family responsibilities, and the everyday demands of life. There were times when I questioned whether I could successfully manage everything, but I remained committed to the process.
I’ve also had moments where I felt underestimated or had to prove myself in new environments. Those experiences taught me resilience, confidence, and the importance of trusting my own abilities even when others didn’t immediately see my potential.
Most recently, I was involved in a car accident that forced me to slow down and focus on recovery while continuing to teach and pursue my goals. Experiences like that remind you how quickly life can change and how important it is to appreciate the journey.
Looking back, I wouldn’t say the road has been smooth, but every challenge has helped me grow. Each obstacle taught me something valuable and ultimately strengthened my commitment to helping others feel stronger, both physically and mentally.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Pilates instructor who is passionate about helping people build strength, confidence, and a deeper connection to their bodies through movement. I teach a variety of clients and focus on creating challenging yet approachable classes that help people feel successful regardless of where they are in their fitness journey.
My teaching style combines precision, strength, and encouragement. I want clients to leave class feeling stronger than when they walked in, not just physically, but mentally as well. I believe movement should be empowering, and I strive to create an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and confident in their abilities.
I specialize in strength-focused Pilates and enjoy helping clients improve posture, core strength, body awareness, and overall movement quality. I’m particularly passionate about helping women discover just how strong they are and showing them that fitness doesn’t have to be intimidating to be effective.
What I’m most proud of is the growth I’ve experienced as both a teacher and a student. Since beginning this journey, I’ve taught hundreds of classes, earned my National Pilates Teacher Certification, and continued investing in advanced training because I believe there is always more to learn. Seeing clients gain confidence, reach goals they once thought were impossible, or simply feel better in their bodies is incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is my commitment to lifelong learning and my genuine desire to help others succeed. I don’t see Pilates as just exercise, it’s a tool for building confidence, resilience, and strength that extends beyond the studio. My goal is to make every client feel seen, supported, and capable of achieving more than they thought possible.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was much quieter than most people would probably expect. I was a good student, loved learning, and spent a lot of time focused on school and personal growth. While I cared deeply about doing well and making people proud, I wasn’t always the most confident person in the room.

I’ve always been naturally curious and driven. If something interested me, I wanted to learn everything I could about it. That love of learning has followed me throughout my life and continues to shape who I am today. Whether it’s a new skill, a certification, or a different approach to movement, I’m constantly looking for ways to grow.

I was also someone who often doubted myself more than others did. Looking back, I can see that many of the qualities I now consider strengths; being thoughtful, observant, disciplined, and ambitious were already there, but I hadn’t fully learned to trust them yet.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become much more confident in who I am and what I have to offer. Pilates has played a role in that transformation because it taught me that strength isn’t just physical it’s mental and emotional as well. Today, I’m still a learner at heart, but I’m much more willing to take risks, pursue big goals, and trust myself along the way.
