Daily Inspiration: Meet Anukkah Laquette

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anukkah Laquette.

Hi Anukkah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Anukkah Laquette, I’m from Darlington, South Carolina, and I am a Morris College Alum, I’m a dog mom to Sircey and the Godmother of Asha, Laylah and Prince. I’m a celebrity interviewer, author, CEO of Never Gave Denied, LLC, host and creator of Never Gave Denied Podcast. I’m also a Confidence Coach for the Chi Omega Delta Step Team out of Florence SC, a content creator, pageant/competition judge, and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I got to where I’m at today by not giving up and going all in on my dreams unapologetically. It’s something about walking fully in my purpose that makes the hard days seem well worth it. So if you ever question yourself and your purpose just know that you’re more than likely living in your purpose, you just have trust it and go all in without hesitation.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My life is not a smooth road, I had to fight for everything I have, though people may think that everything comes to me easily. Nope, I just make it look easy. My life is the true definition of “Never Gave Denied”, which is the reason why I created my podcast called “Never Gave Denied”, because it’s a glimpse of my personal struggles while displaying other people’s personal struggles and how they found their way out. The struggles that I’ve faced started when I was younger.

I had to fight for my education; I grew up with a learning disability. I would jumble up words and couldn’t comprehend reading materials as well as my classmates. Until one day, I decided that I wouldn’t let having a learning disability stop me from progressing through school; I had to work ten times as hard so that I could catch up to the rest of my classmates. When you’re working hard trying to make your life better, there will always be naysayers who will try to bring you down and that naysayer was my high school guidance counselor who told me that I wouldn’t go to college or graduate. I proved her wrong, not only did I graduate college, but I graduated with honors.

I had to fight the struggles of finding a job in my field of study; I applied to hundreds of jobs in my field and continued to receive “letter of regret” emails until one day I was hired to a job in my field that would eventually expose me to my calling.

As you can see, even though I went through all of these struggles, I never let that stop me from achieving everything that I set out to accomplish. I achieved my goals scared and unprepared, but I did what needed to be done. You have one life to live. Are you going to stop going and hide or are you going to face your struggles head-on and heal?

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I host a show called Never Gave Denied Podcast, which can be found on YouTube, Spotify, Facebook, and TikTok or my website [NeverGaveDenied.net]. I love giving back to my community by being a competitive judge, serving as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and being a Confidence Coach for the best step team in the land, Chi Omega Delta Steppers of Florence SC. I’m most proud of my determination and willingness to keep going no matter what is going on in my life. I’m an author of the first content creator journal that’s dedicated to individuals with social anxiety and I’m now working for myself full time, my nomination for Voice of Influence for Snubb3d Magazine. What sets me apart is that I’m well-rounded, I have enough confidence to teach people about confidence on and off the stage.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Seeing people live in their God giving talents. Enjoying the little things in life such as eating seafood boils with sweet tea on the side.

I’m also happy to have an amazing team who believes in my brand and continues to show up for me; Jarvelle Lee who’s my Audio and Visual Engineer for my podcast and Angela Chandler who’s also my mom and my Executive Advisor for my podcast. I can’t thank them enough.
