Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Thomas.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2005, and my practice has changed and grown quite a bit in that time. Over the years I gathered experience in personal training and health coaching as well. As someone with a history of chronic pain and autoimmune illness, my work has always been results-driven with a focus on movement and pain relief. I am so excited to be a part of the collective now and organizing small community events and workshops that help people to improve their lives and grow as individuals. It is truly a pleasure to be in this space.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growth does not happen without challenges, and is often uncomfortable. Looking back, I have to say that navigating the challenges of Covid as a small business owner was one of the hardest times. The nature of my job requires close contact, and cost myself and my business partner at the time our built from the ground up business. Being based on bodywork and personal training, we just could not afford our storefront under the strain of Covid regulations, and it was pretty devastating. However, I continued to make my way for the next several years, growing my client base and ,most importantly, meeting the women that I currently have the pleasure of building this business with!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am primarily a licensed massage therapist, and part owner at Rooted & Radiant Wellness Collective in Myrtle Beach, SC. I use my coaching skills and personal training background to help my clients with corrective movement to restore functional mobility. I specialize in myoskeletal alignment, often taking on more challenging cases. I really love figuring out WHY someone is having pain, and not only alleviating it in the moment, but helping them to create long-term positive results. This past year, I added manual lymphatic drainage to my toolbox, and am enjoying seeing the benefits of that work as well.
