Life & Work with Lachondria Legare Taylor of South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lachondria Legare Taylor.

Lachondria , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
#TOMBOYSEXY CLOTHING started in 2018 as just a thought that I wanted start my own clothing line. I’ve always loved fashion and decided to take a swing at it. I’ve always hosting events and started with just a tshirt, then I spoke to a graphic designer right from here in charleston Bert Ford and asked him to design me a logo. He made the logo a play off of me, showed my son’s, they loved it and went from there. Also with the help of 30+ yr Designer Dana Thumbtzen Legare(Vintage fusion) she helped me with preparing for shows and what the market wanted. This bunny is for everyone its not a single gender. Everyone loves it and we went from t-shirts to underwear shoes bathing suits and more on the website. We also started with a male line and bunny as well called PROLEFIX KANGZ. I didn’t wanna have alot of inventory on hand because you can get stuck with alot things folks won’t buy. Basically testing the market. 8yrs now and the website is still running. I’ve done leggings and sports bra for a former wnba player, tshirts for a former wnba player and a female race car driver and customized outfits for organizations. They might not seem big to anyone else but its huge to me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been smooth. I’m a mom 3 young men & 3 grandkids and I work 2 jobs so its hard finding time but I do. I wear and promote my line but sometimes it’s hard to get your area to support but people from other places will. I’ve done fashion shows and even would like to travel more but I grind it out. It’s just hard breaking the market and folks don’t like sharing the recipe so you have to figure it out. Also I put alot of money back into my business as well. Scared Money Dont Make Money I always say lol.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a bridge captain here in Charleston sc for the movable bridges which is way cool. I also do security. But I’m a mom and grandma first thats what im most proud of. A host second I love what I do. My employment follows. I’m a leader and drive my own lane. I have my own style own personality. I’m just me chondria all day long. The jokey funny one the give you the shirt off your back one. I have a saying “B.E.N.O”
Be extraordinary not ordinary

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Just keeping faith in what I do not following anyone’s beliefs just my own. There was a faith call that I used listen to every morning called Next Level Faith Call that helped me focus on me and believing in what I wanted to do. It’s no longer but it was helpful for the 5+ years that I tuned in and allowed these women to pour into me and pray for me. Thank you Vernitra Thomas.
