Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
There are a handful of mediums that were “born that way”. There are many who were catapulted into it by a traumatic event like the passing of a significant loved one. I got into it sheerly through interest. As a kid I often wondered about philosophical concepts like religion, the afterlife and the meaning behind life itself. I had always been in that deeper search and had always been a praying person and felt connected to the divine through that. In college I majored in psychology, studied philosophy and had an amazing interest in psychics due to an astronomy class I stumbled into. Later I came across some amazing books (keep in mind this is WAY pre- internet) on near death experiences and similar topics. Now about this time some mediums were making their way onto daytime tv shows for the first time. I will never forget the day I saw James Van Pragh on the Oprah show. My mind was blown and I was surely hooked. I read his book, Talking To Heaven, and was even more fascinated. More and more books came out on the topic. John Edwards wrote a couple, later Tyler Henry did and books about near death experiences came out like, Heaven Is For Real. So the interest was there but the opportunities to explore this for myself were very few besides I was raising a family and had a job plus other interests. However the internet blew open the door to explore and learn more as well as find groups of like minded people via social media. I got involved in teaching sights, practice groups, workshops and classes. I eventually started going more seriously to a school located in New Jersey that was started by one of the premier teachers of mediumship via Zoom classes thanks to covid. I still take classes and workshops with them to this day as well as some with some fabulous teachers in the UK. Three years ago I joined Very Soul. Very Soul is a service that provides quality evidential mediumship to the public and is very reputable. Regardless of your experience every one must start at the bottom and work their way up to professional status to ensure the quality of the mediums that represent them. You start out in the practice level doing practices with other aspiring professionals all over the world. What a wonderful experience that has been. I have met, worked with and become friends with people from all corners of the world. Very Soul then moves you on through several more levels working with volunteer sitters then the general public with donated readings according to your evaluations until you finally reach the paid professional level. I now work as a paid professional with Very Soul and on my own with Healing Heart Messages which is my own business. I also offer psychic readings for those seeking divine guidance with particular issues they are experiencing in their life. I have always been a huge animal person always having an entourage of animals around me since childhood. My day job is being a professional horse trainer in dressage. Naturally I was drawn to the concept of animal communication. I followed a similar route with practice and educational groups on social media and took several courses. I still attend workshops to continue learning and improving my skills. Psychic mediumship and animal communication is not just a job or even a career. It is a journey of learning and growing that never ends and that you never want to end.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
That’s an easy question! CONFIDENCE. Mediumship in particular makes you swinging in the breeze vulnerable. Spirit is very subtle and is sort of like a game of charades yet you cannot see your partner. Spirit impresses you with pictures, sounds and feelings (sometimes even smells and tastes) and you interpret those to get evidence so that your client knows who it is and then get the messages that provide healing and helpful messages. Tall order, huh? Especially in the beginning you are worrying that you are wrong, that your sitter will look at you like you’re nuts or that your will look foolish. I remember in the beginning in practice circles I would start sweating, my stomach was doing backflips and my hands were shaking going into our break out rooms to practice with out partner. I actually had to take a year off to conquer that by just doing written social media group exercises for awhile. Over time it gets better and you simply have to learn to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. My teacher actually offers a “Confidence Clinic” several times a year for students who need a little help with this.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an evidential psychic medium and animal communicator. As an evidential medium I connected clients to their deceased loved ones on the other side. I provide evidence or details about their life so their identity is recognized and then pass along any messages they have for my client. As a psychic I read into a client’s own energy field, connect with their guides, healers and helpers on the other side and even their loved one if we did a mediumship reading to get guidance for whatever issues they are facing. I also use tarot and oracle cards which are simply a tool to do the same and are very handy for specific questions. As an animal communicator I help people to get messages and insights from their pets to help with behavioral issues and just to touch base with and see what is on their mind. I also do mediumship readings for pets that have crossed over.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Let me start with an observation. I like to do some of my readings in my sunroom overlooking my back yard on Paris Mtn. My clients see it in my background. I cannot even count the times I have been asked where I live and how beautiful it is. I proudly have to agree! I have lived here all my life so I obviously love it here. Hiking and skiing in the mountains just north. Several recreational lakes all around us. Charleston (another favorite city) just a few hours south as well as our beloved beaches. I have always loved Greenville’s small town feel yet city amenities well within reach. Really the only thing I’m concerned about is the over development occurring in and around this area. I would hate to lose the small town feel and adopt the problems that come along with over development.
