Inspiring Conversations with Ken Glover of Joint Works Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ken Glover.

Hi Ken , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started in the music industry 11 years ago to help friends find places to play concerts. I never had any intention of being a record label owner but, this is what was needed of me to continue to be able to help music grow. Music is what keeps me going and I’ve dedicated my life to helping others get their art in front of the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The music industry is full of people who are solely looking out for themselves. The trick is to find people who want to grow, not just work. Here are one of my favorite quotes: “The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side”. – Hunter S. Thompson

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I started this label to give artists a way to release their music while still owning their Master recordings. We don’t take ANYTHING in perpetuity. We want to help the artist grow and to give them a reason to want to be one of our roster artists. We feel it’s better to have someone want to be with us rather than forced to be.

We offer artist management, social media management, tour management, distribution, publishing, tour routing, marketing and promotions, videography, and free consultations.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is a feeling from within. There is no measurement for it besides the one your put in place for yourself.
