Community Highlights: Meet Tasha Johnston of One Touch Massage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Johnston.

Hi Tasha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t start in esthetics or massage- I started with a PURPOSE.

Years ago, after a traumatic situation involving my mother, I knew I wanted a career that would give me the freedom and financial stability to help protect and provide for my family, I’ve always managed to stay somewhat in the medical field. Starting with medical billing and coding, medical administrative assistant, to a simple caregiver or companion to the elderly. After that traumatic event with my mom, I went back to school. That’s what led me to Massage Therapy. It was something that came naturally to me- and it allowed me to step into a space where I could care for others while building something of my own.

I’ve worked for corporate companies my entire life, and as an Independent Contractor. I wanted more. As I grew in massage, I realized I wanted to expand my impact. I didn’t just want people to feel better- I wanted them to look and feel confident in their skin too. Esthetics had been on my heart for years, and I finally decided to go for it.

Through sacrifice, long days, and staying committed even when life got hard, I continued to push forward. Even when dealing with health issues with my mom in/out of the hospital, and receiving heart breaking news no one wants to hear. I built my business, One Touch Massage, from the ground up-creating a space centered around healing, confidence, and personalized care.

Now, as I step into this next chapter, I’m expanding into facials, and waxing, rebranding, and elevating my services- all while staying true to what got me here: genuine care, skilled hands, and a passion for helping others feel their best. This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it every step, every trial, every downfall. And I’m just getting started!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey hasn’t been a straight path- it’s been built through pressure, uncertainty, and a lot of Faith. One of the biggest challenges I faced early on was stepping into this industry out of necessity, not just passion. I wasn’t just choosing a career- I was trying to create stability and security during a time when life felt unpredictable. That kind of pressure forces you to grow quickly, but it also comes with fear, doubt, and moments where giving up feels easier.

I made a promise to myself, because I know I am not able to depend on anyone for my kids but myself and God himself. No matter what life throws, o matter what people around me tells me, I’m going to preserver! My kids depend on it.

Financial challenges were REAL. Building a business while managing personal responsibilities, credit setbacks, and inconsistent income in the beginning tested me in ways I didn’t expect. There were moments where I had to make touch decisions, sacrifice comfort, and keep showing up even when the results weren’t immediate.

Balancing everything- school, work, and life- was another obstacle. Going through both massage and esthetics training required discipline, time, and energy. There were long days, mental exhaustion, times where I questioned if I was doing too much. But I kept going because I knew what I was building would be worth it.

Another challenge was stepping into fully into my identity as a business owner. It’s one thing to have the skill- but it’s another to believe in your value, set your prices, market yourself, and take up space confidently. I had to grow not just professionally, but personally- learning how to trust God more, trust myself, stand firm in my worth, and show up as the face of my brand. There are still challenges as I expand – building a new client base for facials and waxing, and stepping into a new level of business. Growth requires stretching, and I’ve learned that discomfort means I’m moving in the right direction.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about One Touch Massage?
One Touch Massage is where healing meets refined self-care.

My business was built with intention- to create a space where results, relaxation, and confidence all exist in one experience. i specialize in customized massage therapy, advanced skincare treatments, and luxury waxing services, all designed to restore the body while enhancing the skin.

What i offer goes beyond a typical appointment. Every service is curated with purpose. I take the time to understand each client’s needs, concerns, and goals then tailor the experience to deliver both visible results and a deeper sense of well- being. Whether it’s corrective facials, targeted bodywork. or post-wax skin treatments, my approach is always personalized, never routine.

What truly sets my brand apart is the fusion of therapeutic touch and esthetic precision. With a foundation in massage therapy and a growing expertise in skincare, i bridge the gap between wellness and beauty- creating treatments that not only feel good in the moment but continue working long after you leave. ‘m known for my attention to detail, my hands, and the environment i create. Clients don’t just come for a service; they come for an experience. that feels intentional, elevated, and deeply restorative. From the energy in the room to the way each treatment flows, everything is designed to make you feel seen, cared for, and confident.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building something that feels both luxurious and personal. One Touch Massage reflects growth, resilience, and a commitment to excellence- without ever losing the genuine connection that started it all. What i -want people to know is simple: this is more than self-care. This is where healing hands meet radiant skin. This is where you come to reset, restore, and elevate how you feel- inside and out.

Although, the name is changing from One Touch Massage to One Touch Massage & Spa, I’m only continuing to raise the standard.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me most is creating a life and a business rooted in freedom, security, and genuine impact. Everything, I’ve built started from a deeper place- it wasn’t just about choosing a career, it was about creating stability for myself and my family during a time when life felt uncertain. That experience shaped how i move today. It’s the reason why i value independence, ownership, and being able to stand on something i created with my own hands, and I’m still creating.

I also care deeply about how people feel when they leave me.

In my work at One Touch Massage, it’s not just about delivering service- its about transformation. Whether it’s releasing stress, healing the body, or helping someone feel confident in their own skin again, those moments matter to me. Confidence, peace, and feeling cared for are things that you can’t always see- but you can feel them, and that’s what i aim to give every client, every session.

Growth matters to me too.

Not just financially, but personally and professionally. I’m always working to elevate my skills, my brand, and the experience I provide. I don’t’ believe staying stagnant- I believe in evolving, refining, and becoming better in every season. And the core of it all, what matters most is legacy.

I’m building something bigger that just services. I’m building a brand that represents resilience, intention, and excellence- a space where people feel safe, valued, and confident. Something that lasts. Something that opens doors, not just for me, but for others who see what’s possible.

Because for me, this journey was never just about success- it was about creating a life that feels secure, meaningful, and aligned with who I am.
