Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Stromlund.
Hi Nikki, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a strong advocate for mental health. It’s something I care about deeply. I also discovered early on that I genuinely love the administrative side of running a business. Most people dread it; I thrive in it.
When I started seeing how overwhelmed mental health professionals were, buried in billing, scheduling, and insurance calls, I realized I could do something about it. They didn’t get into this field to chase claims. They got into it to help people.
So I combined my two passions and created CNS Administrative Solutions. Our mission is simple: relieve the administrative burden so mental health professionals can focus on what they do best, serving their clients.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The timing of starting my business right before 2020, when the world went virtual, led to quick growth. With that comes other struggles of trying to hire expert employees and maintain the same excellent level of service. That has certainly been a learning process and we have continues to adjust and refine that process over the years.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We support mental health practices, from solo clinicians to growing group practices. We step in wherever there’s a gap. For some, that looks like billing or intake help. For others, it’s practice management or ongoing growth consulting. Because we specialize in mental health, everything we do, whether it’s email triage, bookkeeping, or tax support, is designed to take the administrative load off of the clinician so they can stay focused on their clients.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Integrity is a non-negotiable for me. It’s the standard I hold myself to and what I look for in every person I hire. Skills can be taught, but without integrity, it doesn’t work. I’m grateful to have a team of specialists who truly live this out, and it’s something we expect from the practices we partner with as well.
