Hi jorge, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We started Myrtle Party & Fun Rentals as a family-owned business with a simple goal: to bring safe, clean, and fun entertainment to our community here in the Myrtle Beach area.
Everything began when we purchased a bounce house for our son’s party. The event was a big success, and seeing the joy it brought to the kids and families truly inspired us. That’s when I spoke with my wife about the idea of bringing that same experience to other families.
From there, we began studying the industry and learning everything we could about this new business. We attended one of the largest entertainment expos in Florida, where we expanded our knowledge and invested in new equipment.
Like many small businesses, we started with just a few units, but always with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and reliable service. From the beginning, our focus has been to provide well-maintained, sanitized equipment and a professional delivery and setup experience. We are also a fully insured company, giving our customers added peace of mind for every event.
As word spread, our business continued to grow. Today, we proudly serve Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas, helping create memorable experiences for birthday parties, school events, and local businesses.
Even as we’ve grown, we remain a family-owned company, and we are truly happy and grateful to be part of so many special moments and memories in our community. 🎈
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped us grow.
Like many small businesses, we faced obstacles in the beginning, from learning the industry and understanding safety requirements to building trust with customers in a competitive market. There were also challenges with weather, scheduling, and logistics, especially during busy seasons.
Another big part was investing in quality equipment and maintaining high standards while managing costs. We’ve always prioritized safety, cleanliness, and reliability, which requires constant attention and effort.
However, each challenge has made us stronger and more experienced. We’ve learned to adapt, improve our processes, and focus even more on customer satisfaction.
Today, we’re proud of how far we’ve come, and those early struggles have played a big role in shaping the business we have today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are a family-owned party rental business specializing in inflatable rentals, including bounce houses, water slides, and event equipment for birthdays, school events, and local businesses. We are known for providing clean, safe, and well-maintained equipment, along with reliable and professional delivery and setup.
Before starting this business, I worked for many years as a vehicle transport driver, which required a lot of travel. Over time, I realized how important it was for me to be more present in the lives of my children, grandchildren, and my wife. That decision led me to step away from traveling and focus on building something local for my family and community.
Today, I still do some delivery driving, but my goal is to fully transition into growing our business. What we are most proud of is being able to create joyful moments and lasting memories for families while building a business that allows us to stay close to home.
What sets us apart is our commitment to safety, cleanliness, and customer service. As a fully insured company, we take every detail seriously—from sanitizing our equipment to ensuring proper setup and clear communication with our clients. We treat every event as if it were for our own family.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is my family and being able to create special memories for our customers.
My family is my biggest motivation, and being present in their lives means everything to me. That’s one of the main reasons I chose this path.
At the same time, seeing the joy on children’s faces and knowing that we’re helping families celebrate important moments is incredibly rewarding. It gives real meaning to what we do every day. 🎈
