Today we’d like to introduce you to Quanisha Fowler.
Hi Quanisha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I actually started my journey in beauty back in 2012 when I finished cosmetology school. I was doing hair and nails and honestly, esthetics wasn’t even on my radar at the time.
Fast forward to 2018, my esthetician at the time looked at me and basically said, “you should apply for this job—and if you get it, it’s meant for you.” So I did exactly that… and I got it. And whew, that changed everything.
I worked in waxing for about 3–4 years and that’s really where God showed me where Im suppose to be. I learned my skill, built my confidence, and connected with clients in a real way.
Now let me be real, I fell in love with waxing because it was never just waxing. My clients started trusting me with their services and their stories. Life stories, vent sessions, everything. And I don’t take that lightly at all.
I love creating a space where people feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. I’m big on self-care and self-love because I truly believe you can’t pour into anybody else if you’re not taking care of you first; mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and even financially.
As I grew, I realized I wanted more freedom and more alignment with how I work and how I treat my clients, so I stepped out on faith and started my own business. I’ve been running it for 2.5 years now, and honestly… I’m proud of that, the growth I’ve experienced along the way.
At this point, I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 10 years, and I’m still just getting started. Everything is going accordingly to Gods plans for my life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh no (LOL) nothing is never a smooth road. You will always have good days and bad days but you just have to keep the faith and never quit. Starting from the ground up was a hard struggle , because I didn’t know where to start. Doubting myself was another hard struggle as to who would support me and see my vision the way I see it. But, remembering it’s MY VISION not theirs and the ones that’s meant for this journey will be in the formerly known as The Wax Palace where I have rebranded the name to QUI’S SKIN & WAX STUDIO journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
QUI’S SKIN & WAX STUDIO is known for full body waxing(remove unwanted hair), facials and back facials currently. The atmosphere in my studio sets me apart from others based off my clients experiences and vocalizing how peaceful and serene the service(s) are. I am a faith-driven business my mission is to serve others , where Gospel music or sermons is played throughout every service(s). Im proud of my brand because it’s not just a brand but a safe environment where my clients trust me and where each client relationship is unique and personal. I would like the readers to know that all are welcomed.
