Daily Inspiration: Meet Kenyetta McKnight

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenyetta McKnight.

Hi Kenyetta, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey actually started very organically by helping family and friends solve their skincare concerns. I began experimenting with natural ingredients at home, creating simple products for the people closest to me. Seeing the results they experienced and hearing how much they enjoyed the products gave me a sense of fulfillment I didn’t expect. The love and encouragement I received from them is what ultimately pushed me to turn what started in my kitchen into a business.

What began as small batches for family and friends gradually grew into something much bigger. As the brand evolved, so did my vision. I realized that skincare was only one part of the story. I wanted to focus more deeply on self-care, affirmation, personal growth, and supporting women as whole individuals. So often we care so deeply for others that we forget to take time for ourselves.

Good Vibes Aesthetics (GVA/GVibes) grew from a simple idea into a thriving business rooted in my love for creating holistic wellness products and experiences designed to help people slow down, reset, and reconnect with themselves. At the core of everything I do is intentional living—encouraging people to be mindful about how they care for their bodies, their minds, and their overall well-being.

As the brand has grown, hearing the stories from customers about how GVA products have impacted their lives has fueled an even deeper passion for community impact. It has inspired me to become more involved in mentoring youth and creating spaces that encourage confidence, self-care, and personal growth; through our Sip & Whip Experience.

For me, this journey has never just been about products; it’s about helping people feel good, inside and out, and reminding them that taking care of themselves is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like many entrepreneurial journeys, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing the many roles I carry. I’m a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a leader, and I also maintain a full-time career while growing my business. Each of those roles is important to me, and learning how to manage my time, energy, and responsibilities has required discipline, patience, and a lot of grace for myself along the way.

There have also been moments of uncertainty that come with entrepreneurship—figuring out how to scale, learning the business side of things like branding, marketing, and operations, and often stepping outside of my comfort zone. When you start something from passion, you quickly realize there are many aspects of running a business that you have to learn as you go.

Another challenge has been reminding myself that growth takes time. In a world where everything seems fast-paced, it’s easy to feel pressure to move faster than your journey requires. I’ve had to learn to trust the process, remain consistent, and celebrate the progress along the way.

Despite the challenges, every obstacle has taught me something valuable. Those experiences have helped me grow not only as an entrepreneur but also as a woman navigating many meaningful roles in life. They’ve strengthened my resilience and reinforced why I started this journey in the first place—to create something meaningful that encourages people to care for themselves intentionally.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Professionally, I serve in a leadership role within an organization where I oversee and support a team of employees who are responsible for fiduciary accounting operations. My work focuses on ensuring financial accountability, compliance with federal policies, and providing guidance and mentorship to employees so they can perform their duties with confidence and accuracy.

A large part of what I do involves leadership, training, and developing people. I work closely with my team to ensure they understand complex policies, maintain quality standards, and feel supported in their professional growth. I’m known for creating an environment where communication, mentorship, and accountability are important, and where employees feel encouraged to learn and improve.

What I’m most proud of in my professional career is the impact I’ve been able to have on people. Seeing employees grow in their roles, gain confidence, and achieve success in their careers is incredibly rewarding. Leadership to me is not just about managing work; it’s about investing in people and helping them realize their potential.

I believe what sets me apart is my approach to leadership. I lead with transparency, empathy, and a strong commitment to excellence. I strive to create a culture where people feel respected, supported, and motivated to do their best work. For me, success is not only measured by performance outcomes but also by the growth and well-being of the people I have the privilege to lead.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t necessarily view my journey as luck, but rather as a combination of faith, preparation, and meaningful connections. I believe that when you remain committed to your purpose and stay consistent in your efforts, opportunities naturally begin to appear.

Of course, there have been moments that felt like good timing…meeting supportive people, receiving encouragement from family and friends, or having customers share my products with others through word of mouth. Those moments helped open doors and gave me the confidence to keep going.

At the same time, I’ve also experienced challenges that could easily be seen as setbacks. Balancing multiple responsibilities, learning the business side of entrepreneurship, and navigating uncertainty have all required resilience. But those experiences taught me valuable lessons and ultimately helped shape both my leadership and my business.

If anything, I would say that what people sometimes call “luck” is really the result of passion, persistence, and staying aligned with your purpose. When you remain dedicated to what you believe in and continue to put in the work, opportunities tend to follow.
