Community Highlights: Meet Jacqueline of Spoken from the Stars

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline.

Hi Jacqueline, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Becoming a healer wasn’t something I imagined for myself while growing up in San Diego, but over time, it became clear that this was my soul’s calling. I had always been drawn to spiritual practices like yoga, sound baths, and tarot, though at first they were hobbies rather than a career path. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from SMU, I was living in Dallas and following a traditional path as a Director-level marketer, quietly nurturing my spiritual interests along the way.

Then, my dad passed away unexpectedly when I was 27, and my perspective on life shifted deeply. Intuitive gifts that had been dormant began to awaken, and I felt called to explore them and help others find healing. Reiki, in particular, became a powerful tool for me to process my own grief, and it inspired me to become a certified Reiki Master so I could share that healing with others. That journey eventually led to the creation of Spoken from the Stars, which began as a podcast on Spotify where I shared guidance, insights, and conversations about intuition, energy, and personal growth.

While podcasting from my living room and continuing to deepen my healing practice, I realized something was missing: the ocean. I needed a less urban setting where the restorative energy of the beach could be part of my work. So, a year ago, I moved to Charleston, studied to become a certified ocean therapist, and opened Spoken from the Stars. Today, I offer tarot, Reiki, and ocean-based healing modalities, along with events and workshops that create space for reflection, connection, and transformation.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish I could say the road has been smooth, but there have definitely been choppy seas along the way – such is life. Building Spoken from the Stars was very different from my marketing career, where I felt confident in my skills and experience. Stepping into this new entrepreneurial role brought a mix of exhilaration, excitement, and fear, along with my fair share of imposter syndrome, even with the support, training, and certifications I had acquired.

Moving to Charleston without knowing anyone added another layer of challenge, and I quickly learned that building a business here meant building a community. I had to establish both a social network and a client base from scratch. Reading tarot at local markets helped, and events soon became a crucial way to connect with people, giving me touchpoints I hadn’t anticipated. Early on, I realized that while I had a vision for what the business would be, with Reiki as the central focus, it naturally transformed into what it needed to be to best serve people. Listening to clients’ needs led me to pivot and incorporate tarot more prominently, which has become one of the most-loved services I offer.

Even with these adjustments, some weeks were slower than others, and there were times when I questioned whether my time and energy were being spent wisely. I remember one day at a local boutique when I did a reading for only one person all day. At first, it felt discouraging, but that single session ended up being deeply meaningful for the client. Little moments like that remind me that even on slower days, the work I do has impact, and helping just one person find clarity or comfort makes all the behind-the-scenes effort worthwhile.

Through it all, being an entrepreneur has only deepened my spirituality. You’re constantly going within and confronting fears like not feeling good enough or wondering if what you’re doing is “working.” Learning to trust what I’m building, even when results aren’t immediate, has been one of the most important lessons along the way. I keep telling myself, “every booking is another brick” in the metaphorical healing temple I’m creating with this business.

We’ve been impressed with Spoken from the Stars, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Spoken from the Stars is a healing practice I created to help people reconnect with themselves, with others, and the world at large. I specialize in tarot, Reiki, and will soon be adding ocean therapy sessions to my offerings. Whether you’re coming into my office for a one-on-one session or if we meet at a market or group setting, you will walk away with a more compassionate and deeper understanding of yourself and where you fit into the larger scheme of life. By using my psychic gifts of clairaudience, clairsentience, and clairvoyance, I’m able to hear messages from not only your “Higher Self” – the most evolved spirit version of oneself – but also from the other side to support you in becoming your best self.

My tarot sessions are more about self-development and understanding, although I do love a love reading and seeing what the future may hold. Tarot is so much more than just predicting the future; it’s one of, if not the best, self-awareness tools. There is so much you can ask with it, whether that’s asking what karmic lesson am I supposed to learn in this life, asking for messages from loved ones on the other side, messages on what different parts of your body want you to know (because emotions get trapped in different organs), understanding why you may have financial “lack” in your life, understanding why you keep attracting the same (wrong) people in dating – that’s just a handful of ideas.

My Reiki sessions involve more than just energy healing, but can also include clairvoyant visions, past life memories, or messages from passed loved ones. No session is the same, and that’s the beauty of it. With the help of “Spirit,” you will get what you need to understand more about yourself and what you need in that moment. The sessions are structured, with pre- and post-consultations, but also fluid to allow any messages or visions that need to surface for me to relay.

When reading at events, it’s about listening, feeling the energy in the room, and responding with what is most supportive in that moment. For example, I approach reading at a yoga studio slightly different than a bachelorette party. In any scenario, though, I bring a mix of spiritual insight, psychic knowledge, and practical guidance, always with the intention of helping someone strengthen their own intuition, inner knowing, and sense of self-worth.

I’m proud that the practice has had so much positive feedback and that it’s grown into something that I feel is having a positive impact on the world, or at least in Charleston. I would love for readers to know how much I truly care about my clients. I also want readers to know that they should try Reiki at least once in their life. At the very least, Reiki is a relaxing, gentle “energetic massage” clearing any underlying blockages, or it’s a transformative, life-changing experience. I have experienced the latter myself, which is what makes me so passionate.

What matters most to you? Why?
Helping people heal. Whether that’s seeing from a new perspective, alleviating a physical ailment, or experiencing unconditional love for oneself. I think that the wells of our inner being go deeper than people realize, and their capacity for love is even greater than they’ve imagined. If we can dig an even deeper well, to love ourselves with the utmost compassion, think about the effect that would have on the rest of the world. That’s the foundation of my work. I believe that if more of us approached life with the deepest compassion for ourselves and others, the world would be a gentler, more connected place. Every session, reading, or workshop is a small step toward that, and that’s what gives my work meaning.

In addition, I’m very passionate about educating people on how beneficial alternative modalities like Reiki are. There is so much more than traditional methods to heal, and our energetic state is often ignored, yet can have massive impacts on our health. There is not only physical and mental health, but also energetic health. We are energetic beings, but traditional medicine overlooks this.
