Conversations with Justin Bowers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Bowers.

Hi Justin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I put all my eggs into one basket and decided to pursue in home personal training years ago. To cut costs and to give the endeavor my full attention, I lived in my car for a bit.

18 years later I own 4Life Fitness Studio in Greer, SC. We have an amazing group of trainers who each bring their own individual style.

We are unique in that we’re one of few locally owned studios in our area.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been all smooth sailing. Besides the daily grind of the job, as a personal trainer you have to be a jack of all trades. You must be an marketer, sales, and in some cases a plumber!

From moody clients to disgruntled former trainers, I’ve seen it all!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Great question. Although I’d like to consider myself a general population personal trainer, some would tell you otherwise.

I kind of fell into working with pageant competitors for their fitness segments during competition. My clients have gone on to win state and national titles!

Depending on who you ask, I have different specialties. At the end of the day, I want to provide a safe, comfortable environment that anyone can be a part of as a client.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Funnily enough I was the quiet, reserved kid. Often bullied, I kept out of trouble & never brought attention to myself.

A switch must’ve flipped. Now I’m the center of attention, always trying to make a room full of people laugh.
