Hi Dexter, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 1997 I retired from the National Football League after suffering a career ending injury.
I vowed to represent the game and maximize the platform that God has given me. My wife LaShea and I started a company to put our girls thru college.
Eagle Universal Services went from commercial to government contractor.
We wanted to create a for profit that focused on non profit work.
In 2009 and we founded C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S, a 501C3.
From local community, to Atlanta Falcons, Paris, Budapest, and Kenya, CHAMPION has been committed to positive influence thru sports.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Taking business from commercial to government. Failing to deliver service on time, hiring unqualified friends, hiring friends. trusting people with different motive.
Founding board member of Liberty STEAM Charter School has been rewarding but not easy.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What sets me a part from others is that I have spent significant time in four continents,performed as a HS marching band member, have attended a PWI in Clemson and an HBCU in Morgan State University. I have coached on HS, Div 1, and NFL levels. I have taught Biology on the secondary level and taught health and PE on the middle and HS levels.
I have officiated weddings for NFL players, coaches and people who who want to be married
I am known for my integrity, character and trustworthiness as I ha e also been the Life Coach and Team Chaplain for NFL team.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The favor from God qualifies you works and service beyond your degree.
A person can be whatever, wherever, whenever:) if the are consistent, persistent and aggressively smart.
