Check Out Zachary Bowen’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary Bowen.

Hi Zachary, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My stepfather was captain of one of the Charlotte fire departments. On his off days he painted houses.. that’s how it started for me and then I ended up working for some other friends and acquaintances as I got older. Finally got tired of working for other people who are not very good business men so I started my own company to set a higher standard for what I wanted to offer my clients as far as in-home service, interior and exterior painting..

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Trying to meet new clientele and get hired when you’re brand new and the business trying to shake as many hands and kisses many babies as you can trying to sell yourself and your new brand is very challenging. Also trying to find other painters to help you with your production is very challenging.. even more challenging to keep those painters who are helpful to you. Keeping them busy and keeping your competitors from hiring them away from you.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Fine Finishes Custom Painting specializes in interior and exterior residential painting, drywall repair, kitchen, and bathroom cabinet painting, and much more. I am most proud of the project that we took on in July of 2 025 and restoring and repainting most of the buildings at the Historical village in Mint Hill, North Carolina Carolina.. what sets us apart from other painting companies in our competition in the Charlotte area is that we specialize in customer satisfaction.. “ we paint your home or your business as if it were our own”

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Talk to as many people as you can also shake as many hands as you can let people know you’re trying to scale your business and you’re trying to connect with as many people as you can on a business level. Abuse companies like Thumbtack in the past and had a lot of success with getting generic leads for my business in the early stages.. creating a website for your business and a Google business page so you can keep up with your companies. Reviews is highly suggested.. try to attend as many networking luncheon and meetings as you can in your area.
