Today we’d like to introduce you to Malik Franklin.
Hi Malik, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Creative Technical Solutions (CTS) started from a simple belief: people with great ideas shouldn’t be held back by broken systems, outdated technology, or a lack of visibility.
Early on, I kept seeing the same pattern everywhere—small businesses, teams, and growing organizations doing incredible work, but losing momentum because their operations were scattered, their online presence didn’t reflect their value, and their processes weren’t built to improve or scale.
My background shaped the way CTS was built. I’m a Morehouse College and University of Michigan alum, and I’ve also spent years in competitive boxing — 3 worlds that teach the same lesson: discipline, preparation, and execution win.
In business, that translates to structure, consistency, and measurable improvement. So I began helping large and small federal subcontractor organizations move from “we’re doing our best” to “we have a system that works.”
CTS grew by solving real problems one at a time—building websites that don’t just look good, but actually convert; creating sponsor/donor funnels that turn interest into action; and building simple, trackable pipelines (like UTM-tracked links) so clients can finally see what’s working. Over time, that expanded into process redesign and workflow automation—because a great website can bring people in, but great operations keep them. Today, CTS blends digital services with an International Organization for Standardization (ISO)-aligned, continuous-improvement, agile mindset to help clients build solutions that are not only creative, but repeatable and sustainable.
What motivates me most is watching people and organizations step into their next level—when a brand finally looks credible online, when a team turns viral attention into sponsorships and donations, when an owner stops feeling overwhelmed because their process is finally organized. CTS exists to help people turn chaos into consistency—and to make sure their work is seen, supported, and built to last.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road—and honestly, I’m grateful for that, because the challenges shaped how CTS operates today.
One of the biggest struggles early on was building credibility while still building capacity. When you’re a growing firm, you’re competing with larger companies that already have name recognition, big portfolios, and teams in place. I had to earn trust the hard way—by delivering results consistently, documenting the work, and making sure every client experience felt organized and professional.
Another challenge was learning to balance doing the work with building the business. In the beginning, it’s easy to become the person who does everything—sales, delivery, admin, follow-ups, finance. That can create burnout if you don’t put structure around it. I had to intentionally shift from “just get it done” to “build it so it can scale,” which meant creating repeatable processes, templates, and quality checks—so clients get the same high standard every time.
There were also real lessons in pricing and boundaries. When you care about helping people, it’s tempting to over-deliver or undercharge—especially for small businesses and organizations that are trying to make it. But sustainability matters too. I learned that clear scope, clear communication, and clear value protect everyone involved and lead to better outcomes.
And like any entrepreneurial journey, there were moments of doubt—when projects were slow, when a lead didn’t convert, or when I had to rebuild after something didn’t go as planned. But those moments taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of staying grounded in the mission: helping organizations move from scattered to structured, and from invisible to undeniable.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth—but it’s been meaningful. Every challenge pushed CTS to become sharper, more disciplined, and more committed to delivering solutions that actually last.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Creative Technical Solutions (CTS) is a digital services and process-improvement firm built to help organizations look credible, operate smoothly, and grow with intention. At our core, we help clients turn ideas into structured, measurable solutions—whether that’s a website that converts, a marketing system that tracks results, or a workflow that saves time and reduces errors.
1. What we do / what we specialize in:
-Website design & development (modern, mobile-friendly, conversion-focused)
-SEO and performance optimization (speed, visibility, local search, structured content)
-Digital marketing support (content strategy, landing pages, funnels, and analytics tracking)
-Business process redesign & workflow automation (simplifying how teams work, improving handoffs, and reducing manual effort)
-ISO-aligned consulting and documentation support (helping organizations build consistent, audit-ready processes)
2. What we’re known for:
We’re known for bringing structure to the chaos—and making things simple for clients. A lot of agencies can build something that looks good. CTS focuses on building something that works: clear messaging, clean design, fast performance, strong security basics, and a process behind it that keeps improving over time.
3. What sets us apart:
The biggest difference is that CTS blends creative execution with a continuous-improvement mindset. We don’t just deliver a website or a one-time project—we help clients build a system:
-clear requirements and transparent communication,
-quality checks and documentation,
-measurable outcomes (so you can actually see what’s working), and
-solutions designed to scale as you grow.
We also speak both languages: the brand side and the operational side. That means our work doesn’t stop at “launch day”—we think about how your business will maintain it, update it, market it, and use it to generate real results.
4. What we’re most proud of (brand-wise):
I’m most proud that CTS has become a brand associated with trust, discipline, and results. Our clients know we’ll show up prepared, communicate clearly, and deliver solutions that make their lives easier—not more complicated. We take pride in doing things the right way, even when it takes more effort: clean builds, strong fundamentals, and processes that clients can actually use.
5. What I want readers to know:
CTS is for the business owner, founder, or team that’s tired of guessing—and ready for a solution that’s clear, organized, and built to last. If you want a partner who can help you strengthen your online presence and improve the way your business runs behind the scenes, that’s exactly what we do.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the digital services industry shifting from “build a website and post on social media” to building full business systems—where marketing, operations, customer experience, and security all work together.
A few big trends I expect to define the next decade:
1. AI + automation becomes standard, not optional. Businesses will expect faster turnaround, smarter personalization, and automated workflows (lead capture, follow-ups, scheduling, invoicing, customer support). The companies that win won’t be the ones using AI for hype—they’ll be the ones using it to create consistency and save time.
2. Trust, privacy, and security will matter more than ever. With growing cyber threats and more regulations, clients will prioritize vendors who build secure foundations, protect customer data, and can document how their systems work. “Looks good” won’t be enough—it has to be reliable and defensible.
3. Performance and accessibility will be non-negotiable. Faster sites, mobile-first experiences, and accessibility standards (like WCAG/Section 508) will increasingly influence search rankings, customer trust, and legal risk. Brands that ignore this will lose business quietly—through bounce rates, missed leads, and poor user experience.
4. Marketing becomes more measurable and more local/personal. With changes to tracking and cookies, businesses will lean harder into first-party data, strong analytics setups, and clear funnels. At the same time, local SEO and community-driven branding will become even more valuable for small and mid-sized businesses.
5. More “productized” services and ongoing partnerships. Instead of one-off builds, clients will want monthly improvement cycles—ongoing optimization, updates, content refreshes, and process improvements—because digital platforms evolve constantly.
What this means for CTS is exciting, because it matches how we already think: web/marketing/process/continuous improvement. The future belongs to teams that can build solutions that don’t just launch—they adapt, scale, and keep getting better.
