Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Smetana.
Hi Brandi, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After more than a decade as a stay-at-home mom to three incredible girls, I took a leap of faith five years ago and entered the beauty industry. I started my aesthetician journey with one purpose in mind: to help the women in my life and in my community feel confident, empowered, and beautiful in their own skin.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was a little scary in the beginning. Immediately after school, I wanted to work for myself and be able to make my own hours as I still wanted to be as involved in my children’s lives as possible. And starting your own business with no clientele can be hard, but I joined a networking group and that helped me tremendously build relationships in the community.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am most known for my hair and makeup artistry for weddings mostly I also do pageants and other black tie events if needed. I am also trained in skin analysis and love helping anyone with skin issues get their confidence back! My favorite is working with the brides at the weddings that I do and making them feel like they are the most beautiful person on the planet on their special day.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe my success was just hard work alone luck showed up through the right people, the right timing, and the courage to say yes when opportunity knocked.
