Rising Stars: Meet Victoria Adams of Florence SC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Adams.

Hi Victoria , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m from a small town in the Pee Dee region called Bennettsville, South Carolina, and my journey has been shaped by faith, resilience, and a willingness to pivot when life required it. I was raised by my mother alongside my sister and brother after my father passed away when I was just six months old. Watching my mother raise our family on her own instilled strength, determination, and compassion in me at an early age.

After graduating high school, I began college, but my life shifted when I became pregnant with my first child by my now-husband. I transferred to a technical college and remained committed to continuing my education. Years later, I returned to school to study Accounting, knowing that education and skill building would be essential to my future.

I spent eight years working in manufacturing, which taught me discipline and consistency, but I knew it wasn’t where I was meant to stay long-term. After the birth of our second son, I made another transition into healthcare, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant and Phlebotomist. I worked in that field for ten years, serving others in a hands-on way that deepened my passion for helping people.

That same passion eventually led me into the financial services industry. I became a Certified Credit and Financial Counselor, helping individuals and families improve their credit, strengthen their finances, and achieve goals such as homeownership. Seeing lives change through education and guidance confirmed that I was walking in my purpose.

In July 2025, I stepped out on faith and launched Adams Insurance Agency as an independent insurance agent after passing a challenging licensing exam. I also operate Legacy Tax & Credit Consultants, where I prepare taxes and provide credit consulting services. These businesses represent the culmination of years of learning, reinvention, and perseverance.

I often describe myself as a jill of many trades, but at the heart of everything I do is a genuine desire to serve. My journey hasn’t been linear, but every season prepared me for the work I’m doing today helping individuals and families build stronger financial foundations with integrity, education, and compassion.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. My journey has been filled with pivots, challenges, and seasons of uncertainty. Balancing motherhood, marriage, work, and school at different stages of life was not easy, especially starting out as a young mother while still trying to figure out my career path. There were times when I had to put dreams on hold to focus on what my family needed in that moment.

Starting over professionally more than once was also a challenge. Transitioning from manufacturing to healthcare, and later into financial services and entrepreneurship, required stepping outside of my comfort zone and believing in myself even when the path wasn’t clear. Going back to school, earning certifications, and passing licensing exams while managing real life responsibilities took discipline, sacrifice, and faith.

Building my own businesses came with its own set of struggles self doubt, financial risk, and learning how to navigate entrepreneurship without a blueprint. There were moments when the weight felt heavy, but those challenges refined me. Each obstacle taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of trusting the process.

While the road hasn’t been smooth, every struggle played a role in shaping who I am today. Those experiences allow me to lead with empathy, relate to the people I serve, and show others that it’s possible to grow, pivot, and succeed even when the journey isn’t linear.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work centers on helping individuals and families gain clarity, protection, and confidence in their finances. I operate Adams Insurance Agency as an independent insurance agent, where I specialize in helping clients understand and secure coverage that fits their real life needs. I focus on education first, making sure people truly understand their options rather than feeling pressured or overwhelmed.

Alongside insurance, I also own Legacy Tax & Credit Consultants, where I prepare taxes and work closely with clients to address credit challenges. I specialize in credit education and financial counseling, helping individuals improve credit profiles, create healthier financial habits, and reach long term goals such as homeownership and financial stability. Many of my clients come to me feeling discouraged, and I take pride in helping them see progress and possibility again.

What I’m most proud of is the impact. I’ve helped families with credit, file taxes with confidence, secure insurance coverage, and move closer to financial independence. Knowing that my work directly improves people’s lives is what drives me every day.

What sets me apart is my ability to see the full picture. My background in healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services allows me to approach each client with empathy, patience, and real world understanding. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. I’m known for meeting people where they are, explaining things in a way that’s easy to understand, and serving with integrity and care.

At the core of everything I do is a genuine love for helping people. I’m a jill of many trades, but my purpose is singular to educate, empower, and help others build stronger financial foundations.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was going to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with my church alongside my cousins. Those trips were filled with laughter, fellowship, and a sense of togetherness that I still cherish today. It was a time of joy, community, and faith, and those experiences created lasting memories that shaped my love for family, connection, and service.
