Hi Georgea, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am committed to the highest standards of dentistry and bring over a decade of experience in providing advanced, patient-centered dental care. My journey in dentistry began in India, where I completed my Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery (B.D.S.). Aspiring to pursue a career in dentistry in the United States, I moved to the U.S. and was honored to be accepted into the prestigious NYU College of Dentistry. I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 2012, graduating Summa Cum Laude as the top of my class. I was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society—an honor reserved for only a select few graduates each year.
After graduating, I moved to Chicago, where I practiced general dentistry for several years. Eventually, my family and I relocated to Greenville, South Carolina, which we now proudly call home. Since moving to Greenville, I have focused my practice on pediatric dentistry for the past seven years. Over the course of my career, I have had the unique opportunity to practice and master both adult and pediatric dentistry—an experience that allows me to serve entire families with confidence and continuity of care.
I am deeply passionate about providing state-of-the-art, comprehensive dental care while also making healthcare accessible and available to all. Dentistry allows me to touch a patient’s life in a very special way. I find immense joy in serving patients of all ages and take great pride in my ability to connect with both children and adults. The most rewarding part of my day is building a genuine relationship with my patients and seeing them walk away smiling. I go the extra mile to ensure comfort through a compassionate and empathetic approach, because a positive patient experience is always my highest priority.

Greer Aesthetics MD is run by my husband, Dr. Teny Henry Gomez, and operates at the same location as our dental practice. Together, we share a unified vision of comprehensive care—where dentistry, medicine, aesthetics, trust, and compassion come together seamlessly.
I maintain active memberships in the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the Greenville County Dental Society, and I regularly attend continuing education programs to stay current with the latest advancements in dentistry and patient care.
Originally from Kerala, South India, I was raised in Oman before returning to India for my dental education. I have lived in the United States for over two decades, and my global experiences have shaped both my personal values and my professional philosophy. I bring this cultural diversity into my practice, allowing me to connect meaningfully with patients from all backgrounds.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children. I love cooking, entertaining friends, participating in local Indian festivals, and traveling with my family to experience new cultures.
At the end of the day, I need to be able to go home knowing that I provided care—both dental and aesthetic—that my patients could not have received anywhere else.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a new practice from the ground up comes with its own unique set of challenges—especially when there is no existing patient pool to generate immediate income. Like many small, independent practices, we began with faith, hard work, and a strong belief in the kind of care we wanted to provide. Fortunately, once we opened our doors, word of mouth quickly became our strongest source of referrals. Patients trusted us enough to recommend us to their family and friends, and for that, I truly feel blessed.
In today’s landscape, corporate dental practices are rapidly expanding and often present challenges for independent offices—particularly when it comes to staff retention. Large corporate groups are able to offer extensive benefit packages, which can make it difficult for smaller practices to compete on paper. However, I am proud to say that we have been able to retain an incredible team despite these challenges.
I believe this is because we have created a supportive, respectful, and positive work environment where every team member feels valued. Our staff is deeply committed to the quality of care we provide, and that shared purpose makes a difference. When a team believes in the mission of the practice and takes pride in the level of dentistry being delivered, it fosters loyalty, trust, and long-term commitment.
I am incredibly grateful for my team and for the culture we have built together. Their dedication directly reflects in the care our patients receive every day. To me, a successful practice is not just measured by growth, but by the strength of the relationships we build—with our patients and with the people who work alongside us.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories involves my father—though he was not a dentist, he had an incredible way of distracting me and gently removing my loose teeth. I remember how calm and safe I felt with him. Because of that experience, I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my teeth. I trusted him completely.
Looking back now, it all makes perfect sense.
Those early moments stayed with me more than I realized at the time. They taught me the power of trust, reassurance, and compassion—especially when it comes to something that can be scary for a child. I truly believe those memories shaped the way I practice dentistry today.
That is why managing dental anxiety is so important to me. I understand, on a very personal level, how much difference it makes when someone takes the time to comfort you, distract you, and make you feel safe. Whether I am treating a child experiencing their first dental visit or an adult who has avoided the dentist for years, I strive to recreate that same sense of calm and trust.
Dentistry, for me, is not just about teeth—it is about people, emotions, and experiences. My goal is to ensure that every patient feels cared for, understood, and confident in the chair. In many ways, my father taught me that lesson long before I ever became a dentist.
